Best Ever Caramel Sauce

Forget the ice cream and just grab a spoon!

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: about 1 1/2 pints

Cook Time: ~ 5 min total

Ingredients

1/2 cup dulce de leche
1 stick butter
1/2 to 3/4 cup brown sugar
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Directions

Bring first three ingredients to a rolling boil in a medium sized pot. Boil for two minutes while stirring constantly. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir until completely combined.

Store in refrigerator.

Warm and serve over apples, ice cream, chocolate cake or whatever you can think of.

Dulce de leche can usually be found in the Mexican food isle of the grocery store along with baking items.

I have a question about the directions. Do you remove this from the stove before adding in the condensed milk?

    Thanks! Ü

It combines better when warm. You just have to stir like mad to keep it from scorching. You do get some dark bits in it, but I think it just adds to the flavor.
