
This is a sweeter sauerkraut. It’s the only way I like it.
This is an old recipe I got about 40 years ago from my ex-husband’s mother!! Every Sunday was pork and sauerkraut and Bohemian dumplings.

Prep Time: 10 min Cook Time: 15 min.Ingredients
1 reg. can sauerkraut
1 tsp butter
1 small sliced onion
1 tsp sugar
1 grated potato
salt & pepper
1 tsp caraway seeds
1 Tbsp Vinegar
Directions
Drain sauerkraut and rinse.
Put sauerkraut in a pot and cover with water. Add salt and caraway seeds. Boil 5 minutes, then drain. Set aside.
In a fry pan, brown sliced onion and sugar in butter.
Add grated potato and just cover with water. Add 1 Tbsp vinegar and boil for 10 min. or until grated potato is tender.
Pour this over the sauerkraut and mix.
