Chocolate Chunk Cookies

From Land O’ Lakes cookbook. Looks gorgeous just like a picture! No tricks needed – they work every time as even my teens have this as their favorite!

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: 8

Prep Time: 10 min   Cook Time: 9-11 min

Ingredients

3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (pecans)
1 8 oz milk chocolate candy bar — cut into 1/2″ pieces

Directions

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixer bowl, combine sugars and butter. Beat until smooth. Add in egg and vanilla and again mix until well mixed. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Continue just until well mixed. Stir in nuts and chocolate. Drop by rounded tablespoons of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove immediately. M&M’s, chocolate chips, etc can be used to replace the candy bar. Doubles/triples well.
