This simple icing is perfect for icing cookies or drizzling over cakes, cinnamon rolls or other pastries. The vanilla extract can be replaced with other flavors for endless variations.

1 c powdered sugar
2 Tbsp heavy cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Stir together until smooth. Add food coloring, if using, one drop at a time until you get the color you want. If icing is too thick, add a little more cream. You may need to warm the icing slightly for drizzling over cakes or rolls.
