Grandma Hannah’s Mule Ears

These were my favorite cookies grandma made.

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: ?

Ingredients

2c. white sugar
½ C. brown sugar
1 ½ C. shortening
4 ½ C. flour
3 eggs
½ C. molasses
3 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
½ tsp. cloves
½ tsp. salt

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, mix and add molasses. Sift dry ingredients together and add to shortening mix, mix well. Chill several hours or overnight. Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and drop into sugar. Place on cookie sheet, press down lightly with hand. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
