Grandma's Apple Cake

This is my grandmother’s recipe–lots of apples and nuts and cinnamon! Now it’s fall!

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: 10-12

Prep Time: 10 minutes, not counting apple prep   Cook Time: 35-45 minutes

4 cups sliced apples
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts

Core, peel and cut into small slices 4 cups of apples. Mix with 2 cups of sugar and let set 30 minutes. Add 1/2 cup oil and 2 eggs. Mix then add 2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix then add in 2 teaspoons vanilla and 1 cup chopped walnuts. Bake in greased 11″ pan at 350 for approximately 35-45 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.

Oh this sounds sooo good! A question…”bake in greased 11″ pan”, I’m assuming you mean a 11×15 lasagna pan?
I’m definitely going to try this, will be getting apples next week I hope!
    Thanks for recipe.
