Y’all should try ”Moon and Stars” watermelon. I planted it for the grandkids. They love the big yellow moon spot and all the little yellow stars sprinkled around it. It turned out to be a tasty watermelon too. The kids loved it. Bought the seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds (rareseeds.com)

  Thank you Maggie. I have not heard of Moon and Stars. I will have to check out the link you gave. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to playing in the garden dirt more. It was finally dry enough today to get in some Italian Mesclun Salad Mix and my sugar snap peas.

I had posted last month that our kale died off through the winter. I went out yesterday as I could see some greening up from afar. Well.. its taken off on its own.. looks like we will be eating fresh kale this weekend. I was so bummed early on, as we usually have kale that lasts and lasts. This is quite a spring surprise!

My kale has finally ended out in the garden..we removed the netting a few days ago to let the deer and rabbits eat it down to the ground. This is the third year that we had kale out in the garden throughout the winter months. Have enough picked and frozen to last till next season as well. Believe it or not I had some crows tormenting my chickens the other day. As soon as I stood close to the coop the crows ran away and the chickens relaxed and came home. Maybe a scarecrow would keep the crows away and the chickens could relax a bit.
