Dehydrating Adventures 6 months agoWith turkey soup in the making, and no store bought noodles; I’ve found a new use for my dehydrator. I made my own whole wheat egg noodles and they are drying now. I know I can add them fresh, but I’d rather […]

Dehydrating Adventures: 7 months, 1 week agoJust had a pail of pears given to me. They look bad as they have a disease on the peel, but they taste just great. I will probably dry some and maybe make some pear butter or maybe a pear pie. Does anyone have a favorite way to dry pears?

Dehydrating Adventures: 7 months, 1 week agoMade jerky last weekend. It’s hunting season and I kept a pan full of venison sliced for jerky. Didn’t really use a recipe. Took some teriyaki marinade, added some other teriyaki sauce I had in the cupboard. Added some chopped garlic, a little chopped ginger, and soaked it for a day, squishing it around to [...]

Dehydrating Adventures: 7 months, 1 week agoDried more apples the other week. Tried drying the peels to grind but could not get them crispy enough. Is there a trick to that? I left them in a few extra hours but it didn’t seen to help.

Dehydrating Adventures: 8 months agoWe didn’t have a class on it, more of a discussion/lesson and got to see some of her (Kelly B’s) dehydrated items. Minute Rice is simply left over cooked rice you dehydrate. I never knew that! She had slices of oranges that were to die for pretty, and some of us tried a slice in [...]
