Really Good Chocolate Sheet Cake

I got this recipe years ago from a co-worker. It is the best chocolate cake ever! It never lasts long. It will also make really good cupcakes.

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: 24

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup water
3 HEAPING Tbsp cocoa (the more heaping, the better)
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
6 Tbsp milk
3 heaping Tbsp cocoa
1 1-lb pkg powdered sugar
1 cup chopped pecans (optional but good)
1 tsp vanilla

Directions

Mix flour salt and sugar in a large bowl. Bring butter, water, and cocoa to a boil in saucepan. Pour over flour mixture; mix well. Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and baking soda; mix well. Pour into greased 11 x 17 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Frosting:
Melt butter with milk and cocoa in saucepan. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, pecans, and vanilla. Beat until spreading consistency. Spread over cooled cake. Enjoy!
