Aha!

Nov

Remember this post? Just some of my usual nonsense.

However!!! PROOF!!

Why am I not being assaulted by the media?! I’m the ONLY ONE!!!! Where are the newspaper people? The TV people? My personal assistants and makeup artists?!

Okay, does being the most famous count if you are the only one?

Wait, the only one! That’s like….the state bird, the state flower…..THE STATE ROMANCE WRITER!!!

Somebody call the governor! I need a proclamation!

Oh, wow! I think the Powers That Be ought to build a monument in your honour, or perhaps name a landmark after you. Surely you should be listed as a top attraction in all the tourist guidebooks!

Ooh! Ooh! We can be “The Romance State”

That solves the state motto problem.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
