Miss Scarlet Did It in the Lounge with a Fork

Jan
10

My desk today. Messy, huh?

I was pulling my daughter’s clothes out of the washing machine yesterday when I found a fork at the bottom of the washer.

“Why is there a fork in the washer?” I asked.

“I don’t know,” she said.

“It was in your load.”

“I didn’t put it there.”

Her brother didn’t eat her last piece of pizza, and none of them broke the bowl I found on the kitchen floor. Nobody did! And nobody ever knows who dribbled jelly all over the floor or let the cat in after I put him out or left their dirty socks on the living room floor.

It’s a mystery!!! I bet one of them messed up my desk…..

Oh good, your desk is messier than mine. I feel better

And of COURSE no one ever did those things. No one leaves their half full soda cans in the family room. No one leaves their dirty dishes on the counter instead of IN the dishwasher. No one broke the glass out of the picture that USED to be hanging on the wall…

Your desk reminds me of my area around the computer and on the table along side of it. When my kids were living at home we used to have that ghost of “NOT ME” running around here. Nothing was ever them…….but you know when I look round the room here, I think sheesh and I can’t even blame it on the “Not Me” ghost because I live by myself. But you know what I bet he still resides here…………:rotfl:

Cryna’s comment reminded me of that Family Circus cartoon strip. They had two invisible children living in their house. Not Me and I Dunno. *g*

Let me know when you figure out who “Nobody” is…he/she is responsible for some things at my brother’s house too…”Nobody” and “I don’t know” are partners in crime. Of course my twin nephews just take turns blaming each other…or the dog.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
