Yesterday I posted the first (of what I hope will be daily) posts on my new blog:

http://hocknewberryfarm.webs.com/apps/blog/

Right now there's obviously not a lot there, but I plan to have posts about horse care and training, goat care (birth through breeding, kidding, milking, medical issues, etc.), gardening, cooking, and just farm life in general.

Hope you enjoy – please feel free to send me your comments – I'm always looking for ways to make my site and blog better yes

I went for a visit. Nice blog. I'll be back to see ya.

Best of luck to you. Wishing longer days.  :  )

Thank You for all your kind words! Like minds think a like and…meet up at the same place! LOL!!!

I am very sorry to hear of the soon loss of your loved one/pet. I know that sting all to well. I had to put to say my final good byes to  my Annie Lou and Ckey(dogs) both in less than a year. I was devestated! I couldnt talk without crying.

My neighbor stopped by one day, she mentioned she hadnt heard Ckey lately, I told her what happened. Ckey had cancer. She gave me wonderful advice. "Life goes on!" Not to be cruel but its true.  She then told me, "the house is too quiet, get another dog!" I guess I needed permission!?!?! I started looking for a puppy, 1600 dogs later, through petfinder. I chose two. One was already adopted, the other is Addie Mae. When the time is right, I hope you too will decide to welcome another into your life. For now I send you my prayers of healing and peace and please know I feel your pain.

Keep me posted please Lajoda! I want to hear how your doing.

sunMy husband, Mike, and I have been big fans of Chickens in the Road for several years. We love checking out what's happening on the farm everyday.  As city folks, we are trying to lead a more rural life.

My blog is kind of a hodge-podge of country living, parenting, decorating and whatever else speaks to me.  We live in an 1898 farmhouse that we purchased two years ago, after it sat empty for a long time.  It is a real fixer.  I also put on antique shows on our property.  We had our first one on our farm this August and had 35 different vendors and great attendance.  I try to offer encouragement, ideas and just a place to chat to each of you.  Come sit a spell and visit me at:

It all started for us in December 2012 when my husband and I both had a meltdown in Wal-Mart during the Christmas shopping season. We decided that we deserved better that what box stores had to offer, so began our search for the (non-commercial) American dream. Soon thereafter our lives shifted in ways we could not have possibly imagined at the time. Things were happening so quickly, that we decided to start a blog about our life changes. It is mostly a journal for us, but if someone else can benefit from it as well, then we will be happy.
