There are many versions of broccoli salad, but this is my favorite.

Broccoli Salad

1 bunch fresh broccoli, cleaned and finely cut

1 sweet onion, chopped

½ cup raisins

½ to ¾ cup real bacon bits OR 1 lb. cooked bacon, crumbled

1 cup mayonnaise

½ cup sugar

2 Tbsp. vinegar

1 cup sunflower seeds (hulled, salted)

Clean and cut finely the broccoli, including the peeled stems. Mix with raisins, onions and bacon. In separate bowl, stir mayo, sugar and vinegar together. Add to broccoli mixture. Stir well. Stir in sunflower seeds right before serving.

This is one that's always at potlucks, but have never made!  Thank you for the recipe, will definitely have to give it a try!

Oh, YUM!!  I love broccoli and had a salad not long ago that sounds for all the world like this one.  Thanks!!
