OfflineFinally got the mushroom soup made!
Yes, I do believe it would have been better with beef broth, but we didn't have enough of that. Will plan better for next time.
We also had some overflow into the pot. Was guessing at 1/2 inch head space. That must not have been quite right! But it smells good.

Offline1/2 inch should be just right but you can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out why a jar spewed a bit. Chicken stock works great, beef is my fav though. One of the members of Canning2 used chicken broth and added chicken for a cream of chicken and mushroom soup. The basic recipe possibilities are endless – you just adjust the processing times if you add meat.
Yeah it smells wonderful, I remember ![]()
