OfflineEffie’s Lima Beans
1 pound large lima beans
1 cup white sugar
1/3 cup water
1 tsp ginger
1 raw onion
1 tsp salt
¼ cup hot ketchup
1 can tomato soup
½ pound bacon
Wash and soak beans. Cover with water. Add ginger. Bring to a boil. Drain. Boil again, replace ginger with salt. Simmer until tender. In casserole dish, layer beans and other ingredients. Bake at 250 degrees for 3 hrs. You may want to add extra tomato soup and ketchup.
