Honey-Butter Basting Sauce for Chicken

Salt and pepper chicken (whole or cut up – I generally use chicken breasts with bone in)…and grill…

Divide the sauce in half…baste this this sauce towards the end of grilling…using half on the chicken  (last 10-15 minutes)…and basting the rest on at the end of grilling…sprinkling thyme over the chicken…then place on serving platter to serve. 

Can also be adapted for the oven…putting a whole chicken on a rack.

6 tablespoons honey

1 lemon, zested

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon room temperature, unsalted butter

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
