Janie's Burgers / Meatloaf

1 lb hamburger

1 or 2 slices bread

1 egg

handful or 2 of shredded cheddar

favorite BBQ sauce (I like Kraft brown sugar)

parsley

salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste

thick cut bacon (to top the meatloaf)

Put hamburger in a medium bowl.  Tear bread into small pieces and add to hamburger.  In a bowl add the egg, cheese, 1/4 to 1/3 cup BBQ sauce, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder (sometimes i put in some dehydrated onion bits too) and mix with a fork until combined. 

If making burgers, shape into patties and cook as usual.  Enjoy on a bulkie or onion roll.

If making meatloaf, put into a 9×13 baking dish and shape into a loaf.  Cover meatloaf with strips of bacon ( I put some on the sides as well) and then drizzle BBQ sauce over the bacon to glaze.  Bake at 350 for about an hr until cooked thru and the bacon and the BBQ sauce start to get caramelized.
