Ingredients:
Your favorite yeast bread recipe (one loaf makes 10-12 rolls) String Cheese (cut in half) Deli Style lunch meat (our favorite is roast beef)
Make your bread as usual through the first rise. After the first rise punch it down and devide into about 12 equal pieces. They should be a little larger than golf balls.
Take one piece of string cheese and wrap it with a piece or two of the lunch meat. Wrap this with one of the pieces of bread dough. Contntinue like this until all the dough is uses. Make sure you get the bread sealed good around the cheese or it will leak out when you bake.
Place the rolls on a baking sheet and let rise for about 20 minutes. This helps with making sure they stay sealed well also. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until well browned.

Cindy- I wish I had memories that fond of my school lunches. I remember that our hot dogs had a strange green tinge to them.

Yum! I usually took my lunch. There were very few lunches at school that were good unfortunately. Like the time they made the rectangle shaped pepperoni pizza and put cinnamon on it……yeah….whose idea was that?!? The trash cans were FULL of uneaten pizza.
My ds takes his lunch. I gave him mini cupcakes today and he had a cupcake for breakfast with his sausage. I know…but I was a cool mom! I did get a look from Dh though. But we need to eat the cupcakes up so they don't go bad and so I can totally make Caramel Pumpkin Pecan Bread Pudding!

I never thought of doing this will bread dough. What a good idea.
This will go over really good when we get together with David's side of the family Thanksgiving night to draw names for Christmas. We always just take finger food and this is perfect!!
Thanks for this great idea.

There was no hot lunch here until you got to the high school, but the cooks there were wonderful! Yeast bread every day – one of my favs were the hotdogs in a roll mentioned – 'pigs in a blanket' – YUM!
I like to split mine open across the top and add sweet relish. I usually make a few of those when making pepperoni rolls.
One of the odd things they made now and then was a side of spinach with hard boiled eggs chopped in big chunks and added. I still like that too LOL.
