Mystery Pecan Pie (from Paula Dean)

TOPPING

3 eggs

1/4 c. sugar

1 c. lt. corn syrup

1 tsp vanilla

PIE

1 unbaked deep dish pie shell 9″

1- 8 oz pkg. cream cheese

1/3 c. sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

1 egg

1 1/4 cups chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all topping ingredients in a med. bowl. set aside. In med. bowl mix cream cheese (softened), sugar, salt, vanilla and egg until combined. Pour into pie shell. top with chopped pecans. Then pour topping over pecans. Bake 45 min. A nice different pecan pie.
