Overnight French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
  • 12 3/4 inch thick French bread slices or Grandmother Bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • powder sugar

Preparation:

Spread butter over bottom of large, heavy baking pan with 1-inch-high sides. Arrange bread slices over butter. In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, maple syrup, vanilla and salt until well blended. Pour mixture over bread. Turn bread slices to coat thoroughly. Cover pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 400°. Bake French toast slices for 10 minutes. Turn bread over and continue baking until just golden brown, about 5 to 8 minutes longer. Transfer cooked French toast to serving platter or individual plates and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with syrup.

I'm thinking I could be nice and take this to work in the morning for my co-workers.

Are you applying for bosses pet??? My girlfriend gets up every morning by 4am and bakes something to take to work. She works with a bunch of men who thinks she walks on water. AND she drives 45 miles to work! I say, shes nuts!
