So, I must admit that I have been away from the forum of late…no

However, I really enjoyed the Christmas Swap last year and am wondering if this event is alive again this year.

I would love to participate if it is not too late!

Ellen

Yes, I would like to participate this year too, if we're having it. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Remember, if it rains on your picnic it's also raining on your garden!

I'd love to see a Christmas swap again this year!  In order for it to happen, there has to be a Swap Manager!  The Swap Manager has to make the list of those who want to participate, gather everybody's full names and addresses, then send out the swap info to each participant (and possibly nudge anyone who is behind at the end).

Volunteers?  We MUST have a Swap Manager to make it happen!  But!   Don't volunteer unless you can commit to doing the job and being available on the forum regularly (at least once a day, I think) to stay on top of things.  It's already first week of November, and I'd say people will need their swap recipient info no later than first week of December so they can mail if they're ready.  So.  Anyone?

How does this swap work?  What do you swap and with how many people would you swap – everyone participating or just certain ones in the swap? This sounds like it would be fun.  But I'm a detail and list sort of person who needs to know.

Miss Nellie, you will get a swap partner.  I'm not totally sure because I haven't done the management of it in the past, whether it's been done as a secret swap or not.  You get the name of a person and send to them, and someone gets your name and sends to you, so you're just making one gift.  Then when you get your gift, usually most people will come to the forum and tell about what they received, often with photos.  It's fun.

If you need someone to organize it, I would love to do it.  I'm on here at least once a day, and it can be my first anniversary gift to the Forum.

Suzanne I did send you a PM about this..although I'm busy with my sons health..I will have time to organize it.

One of the other reasons I didn't start it was that I wanted to come up with an idea to make sure everybody sends their gift on time.

I think I have something…so let me know if you want me to do it again…or by somebody else.(that is fine too..it won't offend me)

Yay, Astrid!!!!!!  Okay, people, sign up!!

justdeborah, thank you for volunteering!  I know how busy Astrid has been and didn't want to push it on her, but she's done it before and done a great job, so I'm thrilled she can do it again.  But thank you!!!!!  (whew, glad this is managed now.)
