I know this isn't a typical farm animal, but I just wanted to share some pics I took of a baby bison(buffalo) calf. She's only a month old now and such a cutie. She and the rest of the herd make their home on 11,000 acres of tallgrass prairie in east central Kansas.

I used to live on a working bison ranch outside of Cheyenne, WY and my favorite thing was watching several calves frolicking, running, kicking up their heels and playing tag!!!  Always just made my day!!!

Where are we going and why are we in a handbasket?

Would love to see the calves playing together. Right now she's the only one in the herd, but 2 more calves are due sometime this summer and then she'll have playmates. What fun that will be to watch!

There is a farm on my way to work that has a small bison herd, they have at least 6 babies each year.  I have the most interesting drive to work, I get to see so many animals, one year there was 4  llamas, this year the same pasture has mini horses!

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

Six babies! That must be so fun to see. When I grew up in Missouri, I used to see a herd on the way to our weekly grocery shopping trip to town. It was one of the highlights of the trip, but they were almost always far away from the road. It was fun to see them anyway though.

I took this photo one summer at the Ranch.  Must be some rough hunts folks go on!  What with them hanging out under the sign!

Holy cow! Not exactly a moving target eh?  To make it fair the hunters have to wear blindfolds and only get one bullet. Tee hee.
