Colten is here!!  He was born at 35 weeks, his lungs are developed, but he is having breathing problems.  They put him in an incubator with an oxygen tent, but he is still having hard times breathing.  They are taking xrays tonight and giving antibiotics.  They (the nurses) said "wimpy white boy syndrome"….have to google that…… they will know tomorrow if they have to transfer him to the Grand Rapids Baby Hospital……but he is precious.  Mom is doing good.  Big Sis is jealous already!

Oh, Cindy — he's just beautiful!  I'll send up a little prayer for him tonight.  Let us know more when they update you on his condition, please!

Thank you everyone for the prayers!  He did not get moved to the baby hospital, he is holding his own, the breathing numbers are coming down, and his xrays turned out ok.  There is just so much to understand, especially for me not having any children, it's just awe-ing…………  He can really scream, though, so that should help his lungs out!  He still has to stay in the incubator, so noone has been able to hold him yet…….just his mother when he was first born.

Update……..he made his turn around this morning and keeps getting better by the minute!  His breathing is calming down, they did put a feeding tube in to feed him, but that should be coming out later today.  DD will be able to hold him today for a little bit.  She gets discharged today, but is considered a boarding mother, so she will be able to stay in her room until he is discharged!  That was a relief!!

So another good start to this Saturday!!

That is great news Cindy.  And he is such a precious little man!

We didn't get to see them yesterday, we kept Caitlin……..we will be going down today, though.

DD texted me this picture last night…….eyes open!  He hasn't figured out how to suck yet, so the feeding tube is still in, and they're weaning him off of the oxygen.
