Yes, they loved the horseshoes!!  It was a very good investment of my $1.50 at DG!  We set them up pretty close together and told them they had to be at different ends and toss the shoe at the peg, so they tossed at the peg right next to them!  Alex jumped and did the happy dance every time he made a ringer!  Caitlin's version of winning was if she threw hers at the opposite post and it went past, it was not supposed to be close to the peg at all!

This Easter was the first in more than 25 that I did not have any children for the egg hunt.  It seems that the larger my family gets, the smaller it is.  Does that make sense??  What I mean is that all my nieces and nephews have children and it seems that their families aren't as close as we once were, I guess the children have their activities and life is so buzy that visiting old Aunt Jeannie isn't as much fun as it once was.

I remember being a kid and hunting for those colored eggs. But the highlight was finding the Easter basket — with the big chocolate bunny in the center. I ate the ears first. What about you?

My favorite was the candy coated malted milk balls and black jelly beans.  I always ate my bunny from the butt up.  That way he still could stand in his basket and look pretty.

I still have my Easter basket I had growing up, with the same grass.  I've never had but one Easter Basket.

I'm not saying my mother was compulsive – she just didn't want to play favorites with any of the three of us kids. We found out years later she counted the jelly beans to make sure we each had exactly the same amount in our baskets. (As if WE ever counted – nope, just grabbed a handful and stuffed them in our mouths.)

She always got the assorted-color bag of jelly beans, but I didn't know for years they came with black, licorice-flavored ones in the mix. While counting out our beans my mother would eat all the black ones – her favorites.

Leah, Brooke is getting so big!  What a sweetie!  And I just love her little shrug.  Too too cute.
