I really don't "know" any of you here.  I recognize names but that's about it.  I had just started to be a regular when things changed.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two weeks later, she had a double mastecomy and is currently receiving chemo treatments.  Back in May, she was in the hospital twice.  She went to the ER on the Thursday before Mother's Day & blood clots were found in her right leg.  She was treated for several days & released on Mother's Day.  The Tuesday after, back to the ER, clots in her lung.  She was in ICU for 3 days.  A very scary time! All is better now & she has only 2 more treatments to go :)  She will have a month to rest & relax, then it's radiation daily for 6 weeks.

I'm a SAHM, so my days have been spent with her.  My evenings have been spent catching up on things at home.  I sorta fell off the face of the Earth where everyone & everything else was/is concerned.  I just wanted to check in 'cause I love it here & have really missed it!  I don't expect anyone to have really missed me, because I was so new.  I was lucky enough to win BBB during all this….so I do get the chance to lurk once in a while.

Things are getting better with my mom, I guess it's because we've gotten use to it, not necessarily because it's better….  Anyway, just wanted to check in, I've missed my daily visits here.  I'm hoping that I'll be around more in the weeks to come but it will probably be pretty sporadic.

I'm not really sure why I'm posting this to "strangers", guess I just needed some sort of release….  I'm signed up for Retreat & SOOOOO looking forward to it!  I will definitely need the time away :)

Anyway, thanks so much for "listening" & I apologize for the long posthappy-flower

LOL!!!  Could not edit the title… "where"

BeverlyC, I wondered where you went. I always like to see other Missourians on here. So sorry to hear about your Mom. It's bad enough to have cancer …but blood clots on top!

Take care of yourself…care takers have lots of stress (a foot bath and a glass of ice tea  is always a destresser for me). Remember, you can't take care of someone else if you wear yourself out! hug

BeverlyC….I'm sorry to hear about your mom.  She's fortunate that you are there for her.

I hope and pray she comes kicks cancer's butt!

Beverly, nice you find the time to come and lurke sometimes, you need time to relax.

Being a stay at home mom doesn't mean that you have all the time in the world..please look after yourself.

But nice you are able to be there for your mom, hope she will fully recover.

Hang in there…and hope you enjoy yourself at the retreat.

BeverlyC, sorry to hear about your mom, I know it's hard to handle that worry when there's little you can do to 'fix' anything.  I'm glad you can get here to visit us now and then.

No need to worry about lurking or long posts or catching minor spelling details, we're just glad to have you here whenever you can manage it.  Don't forget to take care of yourself while you're taking care of your mom!  ((hugs))

Beverly,

Glad you could check in with us.  We will be keeping you and your mom close in prayer.  Just to reinforce what others have said, be sure to take care of yourself too.  Enjoy the small moments.  Let us know how things are going.  Talking with friends is good.    hug

Beverly, sorry about your mom.  That is A LOT to deal with!  CITR is a great place to escape and have a nice little break once in awhile.  There are lots of "strangers" here, but we do miss you when you're not here for a while.  The Retreat will be a great vacation for you…you'll definitely need it by then…and we'll no longer be strangers!

hug Cindy

So sorry to hear about your mom.  Thank you for sharing with us.  That's what friends and family are for.  Burdens are lessened when shared and joys are multiplied.

happy-flowerHello Beverly, I want to tell you I am sorry to hear about your Mother. Several years ago when I went for my mammogram, the tech came out and said she need to take more slides, and I knew. There was a tumor and it was cancer. I had a mastectomy and all that goes with it. The trama was overwelming. My Husband was still working at the time, and the days were long and scary.  It is just my Husband and I, we have no family, thank God your Mother has you. It was a terrible ordeal and it is the most terrrifying thing I have ever faced. It has been 14 years and so far I am still alright. You and your Mother are certainly in my thoughts and prayers.

Beverly, I can only add what the others have said.  I took care of my mother (age 93) during her final bout of breast CA so I know what you are dealing with.  I miss people when I don't see them around so know that you were missed.  Stay strong and take care of yourself.  Prayers for you and your mom.

Beverly, I'm sorry to hear about your mom, but she's so lucky to have you there for her. Take care of yourself, that has to be a priority too.  I know it's tough to do when everything is going crazy.  Sending you and your mom hugs and prayers.  I hope see beats this and has many more years!!!

BeverlyC. Prayers for your mom and you and yours. Venting is a wonderful thing and sometimes it is way easier when you can air your troubles to people you don't have to live with everyday. Goodness knows I do it often enough on here.

It is good to here from you again, like others have said. We are all praying that the next time you will have better news to share.

Beverly I am relatively new to this site also.  It is wonderful to have a place to go and vent about our frustrations and whatever is going on in our lives.  I wish the best for your Mom and wish you the strength to stay strong for her.

I haven't been on here much because of my new "old house" and all the work I am doing.  I try to check in and at least lurk around whenever I have a moment.

Oops, I hear the washing machine telling me another load is ready for me to hang out!! lolhappy-flower

First off, thanks to whoever corrected my title!….must be the little forum fairies :)

Now… as I sit here reading ALL the wonderful comments, tears are streaming down my cheeks…my smiling cheeks!  I am overwhelmed by the kindness y'all have shown!  I did have 2nd thoughts about posting but I'm glad I did!  Generally speaking, I'm not the "downer" type.  I'm typically the "joking, laughing, being silly" type.  That's why it was hard for me to decide.

A sincere THANK YOU to ALL of you for your kind words, thoughts, prayers & encouragement!  It means more to me than you'll ever know.

Beverly

Beverly,  I'm sending prayers to you and your mom. My mom lives in SC and I live in WV, I know times are very tough now but at least you are getting to spend time with your mom.  Good or bad at least it is time together.  Cherish it.  Don't feel bad about posting here, we all need an outlet so we can be strong for the ones that need us.  Hang in there and we will keep praying that all works out well.

Beverly, I am sorry about your Mom, but I want to say what Suzanne and her blog has done for me.  When I first started, I had lost my sister and best friend, since then I have lost 2 brothers and now my husband has cancer.  This is a place where we can be 'ourselves' and enjoy friendship without being someone's mom, sister, wife — you get the picture.  Here I am just Jeannie, and I adore Suzanne.  She is what I would want in a daughter if I had one!

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!
