OfflineI have two bits of exciting news.
One: Today my husband was awarded the Bronze Star. I knew he was doing important stuff, but obviously he's doing really important stuff!! It's not a normal occurrence for a Communications Officer to receive a Bronze Star, so I'm extra proud of him!
Two: He's coming home from Afghanistan! Ten more nights alone, and then I'll be picking him up!
There's been many changes this year that he as been gone. The farm itself is starting to look different. We now have Bessie and Buttercup who readily respond to, "Bo-Bo!" Want to come eaves drop the first time my tall hulking Major hollers, "Bo-Bo!"? hehehe Since he visited in June, I've had new windows put in the cabin and the roof patched and painted on the barn. The milking shed should be well under way if not done within the next 10 days, weather permitting. He's really wished that he could be part of all the goings on this past year. I can't wait for him to get home!

He's coming in on a Saturday. So the second thing will probably be attending Mass together.
He'll have some in-processing and briefings the beginning of the week. I should be able to bring him home to WV on Wednesday. Here at home, his to do list is long as you would expect after a year! hahaha Top priority is to get the school computer working better and hopefully get the rest of the brick laid for the 2-story garage/bedroom suite.
We're looking forward to taking some walks, sitting on the porch, and down time with the kiddos. A great thing about homeschooling is we can take off while he's here without any hassle!

OfflineThanks again!
Also, a message from my dh:
Thank you so much. I appreciate all of the comments – I have been blessed with the opportunity to be able to return home. Please remember in your prayers those that weren't able to do so, and their families.
A little background, one of his co-workers was deployed during this time and was killed back in the spring. Our hearts ache for those who have given the greatest sacrifice and for their families.

OfflineThis is the best post today. So glad the major is coming home. His sacrifice for our country is so appreciated. I am married to retired army MSG, and have two sons who have served. Bless you all. How exciting for you and the kiddos.
