What are some of your Halloween traditions? I love Halloween but we don't go all out. We have had a party the last two years for the kids but we have to keep it inexpensive. This year I'm thinking of just inviting a few kids over to carve pumpkins and share treats. I don't know-we tossed around the idea of not having one at all but I'm having a hard time with that. :)

I usually just carve pumpkins, well that and toast the seeds so I can eat them. Can't wait. :)

We do that too. We tried a couple of different recipes one year but I prefer the plain seeds. :)

For our last Halloween party we played Pin the Mouth on the Jack-o-Lantern. Just cut a big pumpkin shape from posterboard and have the kids color and draw in eyes and nose. Cut out a mouth from paper and put double stick tape on the back. The kids get blindfolded and try to put the mouth in the correct spot. They love it.

We also always do a "guess the number" type game- last year we put a bunch of candy corn in a jar and had everyone guess the number. Closest to the right answer won the jar.

Every year too, we gather acorns and the kids paint them orange. When dry, draw little pumpkin faces on with a black sharpie.

We just go trick or treating with the kids. Last year was a little out of the norm for us because my step daughters mom and step father came with us. We all had fun so that all that matters. This year we are taking the girls ourselves because she (mom) is having a new baby right before halloweeen. Now before my daughter was born my husband and I went to a big party dressed up. That was always fun but when you have kids it becomes more about them as with any holiday!

I really don't get any Trick-or-Treaters and I'm too old to go TPing now. I always have candy just in case tho. I'm making a couple treat baskets with cute Halloween toys from the Dollar store and candy for my grandbabies. We'll have a mini photo shoot of them in their costumes .
