OfflineYeah, pretty much Miss Judy. It's the anniversary of when the first provinces/colonies joined together in 1867 and started calling themselves Canada, though they were still part of England. Then, they achieved actual dominion from England in 1982… no declaration of independence or anything.

OfflineThanks for the good wishes…another great Canada Day in Ottawa, this time with William and Kate as the guests of honour.
My daughter went down to the Parliament Buildings to celebrate with the other 500000 people crazy enough to do it, and she got to meet them. Fun for her, and just fine for me, sitting at home with the BF, watching Howard Stern's Private Parts. Holiday well spent!
