Loving it, Dana! I really like that flooring soooo much better…….and the rooster lamp………and your quilts…….and I absolutely love your table. I really like those old real wood ones.
And that view in your living room……..sitting on the couch watching the fire and have that view………<siiiiggghhh>
I'm still leaning towards neutral on the walls…………warm browns family toward the light end of the color swatch is my vote.

Looking great, Dana! Without being in the space, it's pretty difficult to give a solid opinion, but I, too, lean toward warm neutrals while you figure it all out. You can always add deeper colors here and there after you've lived in the space a while.
Good work!

Oh Dana it's beautiful. It's looks like all the stuff was just made for a cabin. The iron bed, quilts and that darling lamp. Just beautiful, if I had a cabin, I don't know if I would be able to leave it.

Thank you so much! I LOVE the rooster lamp too! Got it at Tuesday Morning for only $28! I'm kinda shocked how expensive lamps are so I keep checking the local 2nd hand shop where they're $8.
I think I agree about the warm neutral walls. Does anyone have a particular color that ranges in the deep oatmeal to latte color palate that you've had good luck with? I tend to ALWAYS choose the wrong color and have to holler "STOP! Acckkkk! Yuck!!"
I honestly didn't want to come home. I want to live there forever and just sit and stare at the mountain forever view and listen to the roosters crow. I think I've found my happy place.

The last time I did a complementary color scheme kind of thing on the walls I simply cheated and got some paint chips, the ones that have 6 or 8 similar colors on one piece of paper, just flipped through some until I found one that felt the most comfortable, then selected several cans from the same sheet. That way the colors were guaranteed to not fight with each other, there was a bit of difference but it didn't scream at me.
Those coffee colors were exactly what I selected, and I am more than pleased with them. The walls just hug you! The ceilings are stark white, but they will probably end up a very light coffee color eventually. Or not. They are kind of like whipped cream on the coffee! Most of the walls are the lightest, creamiest coffee, with accent walls here and there of the darker colors. Visually, it is all tied together and you don't consciously see the variations in the color unless you look closely, but it causes the eye to move and not see just boring walls.
