This has been a whirlwind day for sure just living through the photos and video. I can hardly wait to see the deer Ross kills and the inside of the house.

What a BLESSING for Suzanne and the children. I am so glad the hard part is over and she and the children can go on. I know they will do well. She is such a BLESSING TO ALL OF US.

I am very impressed, Cousin Sheryl, that you kept the secret!  sun

Thanks, Sarah Grace!  It was hard.  The hardest thing was keeping it a secret from Georgia for awhile.  Suzanne, Mark and I didn't want to tell Georgia until things were "settled."  We didn't want to upset her in case things "fell through."  Suzanne was sneaking packed boxes over and storing them in the old farmhouse while she was packing up.  I was smuggling boxes home where Georgia couldn't see them.  I told Suzanne that I did something for her that I had not done in the 26 years that I have lived in Roane County.  I went INSIDE the local LIQUOR STORE to ask for boxes!  LOL  I had never set foot in the liquor store until now.  (When you live in the buckle of the Bible belt, there are some things you just don't do in your local town. LOL)  Most of the boxes I brought her were from the hospital though.

And then, it had to RAIN during the main move. Aaacckk!

The neat thing about Suzanne's new farm is that it is kind of at the end of the road…the road turns to a gravel road just past her property with just 3-4 houses past her.  So, she won't have to put up with a lot of traffic.  The new neighbors above her stopped and introduced themselves.  Turns out that one of Morgan's friends lives at the next farm up so Morgan will have a neighbor girl to hang out with.

All in all, this is definitely a positive thing!

BTW, we wish every success to 52 in his path from now on.  We are sorry that things didn't work out for Suzanne and him but these things happen.  We hope that 52 can find some happiness in the future.

Thanks to everyone for your support! clover

Ditto.  I've enjoyed chatting with him in person and online.

That's great that someone Morgan knows is close by.  You should have asked me to go into the liquor store for boxes for you!  I'm not known by anyone in town….laugh

Is it ok to ask what has happened to Stringtown Rising? Did 52 stay there? Is it sold to an outside party? Just wondering since I've come to love the place even though the new place is 1000% better!

caprilis, Stringtown Rising will be put on the market.  It's not actually for sale just yet because we are still in the process of cleaning it, inside and outside, before turning it over to a real estate agent.  Hopefully, it will find a new family, with lots of energy (LOL), to love it.

Clover made me do it.

I hope the new owners don't read your blog before buying it…….they might be a little intimidated by the difficulties of getting in and out!

If I was thirty years younger I would buy Stringtown Rising in a minute, even after following her blog for years!!

Too funny BEG!  I was wondering about 'new' local outhouses earlier! Then I thought maybe we've seen them already…country miles and all!

I'm glad to learn that Suzanne has lightened her load considerably by moving to a location that's going to be SO much more manageable and SO much more spacious and comfortable for the animals.  Too many times, chores at Stringtown Rising were much more difficult and challenging than they should have or could have been and as stated previously, moving may be a better option as there are lots of farms that have qualities we can fall in love with (if we truly love farming, that is) and it looks like the one that Suzanne found has a multitude of those qualities.

I'm sorry that things didn't work out with 52 but if he happens to be reading, like others, I'd like to also wish him success in the future.  I too enjoyed meeting and talking with him at one of the farm parties and, as someone who has "been there, done that" traveling to work every day over terrible, dangerous roads, I'm sure he won't miss all the mud, snow, ice, and high water and probably not even the poop either.

May God bless and be with each one of them as they go their separate ways!
