happy-flowerHello JeannieB Happy birthday to you Husband, May God grant him many more.

I remember both names, Jimmy Doolittle and General McAurthur, we I lived overseas we went swimming along the beaches when he landed the troops. I am a bit older than your Hubby.

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

just a financial note: If you take care of afterlife arrangements and prepay for any services, you may be able to declare those expenses as deductions on fed income tax.

Here comes Fathers Day! Were having ham sandwiches and fingerfoods and desserts of course. I'm going to make the pineapple cake that was posted on FBR the other day to bring. What's on your menu ?

Life is too important to be taken too seriously.

The unthinkable has happened in my city. Wildfires have been raging since Saturday and yesterday a firestorm destroyed several homes and an historic ranch. We had high temp of 101. Please remember the people of Colorado Springs and the firefighters who have done so much.

Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like you do when no one is watching.

Thanks Miss Judy. So far the flames are moving northwest towards the Air Force Academy and the northern part of El Paso county

My heart goes out to you, mamawolf.  I hope you are not in danger.

We dodged a big bullet 2 weeks ago, but Monday night's heat and lightening caused several fires nearby.  One is 95% contained.  The other has brought many evacuations.

Mamawolf, I know we are all concerned for all of those in harms way, our neighbors Son attends the Air Force Academy. They left yesterday heading for Colorado in case he has to leave.  We are praying for rain and enough of it that it will help contain these fires.

 Please take care.

My husband's Mom & siblings live in Colorado Springs.  We're on pins & needles waiting to see if they need to evacuate.  We keep trying to get Mom to fly to TX since her breathing has been effected from the smoke and it would be one less worry for Hubby's siblings.

Keep safe Mamawolf.  Prayers for you.

As you probably all know, the Waldo Canyon fire is 55% contained. Some of the evacuees have been allowed to return home but many are still away. Many homes are without gas and electricity due to rupture of lines. The weather is been a little better; still hot, no rain but some increase in humidity.

My thoughts and prayers are with anyone in the fires' path.  SC lost a firefighter in one of the western fires, so the reality of it all hit close to home.

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

Looking better all the time for all of you out west.  Hope that it helps just a little bit to know that all of us have been supporting you in every way that we can.

Well, I got a bit distracted the past two weeks with the power situation here, but hope that some of the continued prayers for all of you got through anyway.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family Linda!  Go have fun and enjoy the event!

That's an interesting way to put the question Ross, I think it's a good way too.  Life is a two way street.

Ross,  my three sons each gave me a  new DIL.  After fifteen years I'm  down to one.  I thank My Lord each night that he left me with the one I like and she likes me.  She does tell everyone that I have a "Stink Eye" when I'm not pleased and also admits that it's nice to know where you stand with just a look.  Love her a bunch.

Funny Ross!!!!  I think she does.  She tell me she loves me. She has the best Mother In law their is. LOL… She says I do more for them, then her mom does.  I just hope my son can handle her.  I think she will be a little high maintenance.  Any ways it was a very nice day, a little long but nice.  My excuse to leave finally was I needed to lock my chicks in. All chicks were accounted for when got home.  Don't know how I am going to handle being away from those chicks  for so long starting Monday on way to Alaska for 10 days with my dad.happy-flower
