I see your point brookdale, I didn't realize it changed in that way.  It was nice to be able to go to the same area if we saw some buzz about some topic.  I'm not sure what the blog fairies can do, but it's good to know about it! ~

Yeah, also, when you click on a response it doesn't go to the correct blog, so you never can find out the "rest of the story". Can't they just return it to the former format?

I'm sorry to say that for the moment at least, (and not likely ever) we can't just return to the prior format, but there may be some fixing to be done, in the future, hopefully the near future.  I'm not sure what the timeline for any of that though.  This sort of thing is not up to us local folks, the Blog, (front page and Suzanne's site) is an almost completely separate entity from the forum.  We have quite a bit of ability to make direct changes to the content of the forum, though not so much the background of it.  Still, we try very hard to keep things running smoothly.

Keep up with bringing any issues to our attention, our outlook doesn't let us see everything thanks to the various operating systems, internet interfaces and such like.  We do care, and will try to keep up on getting what we can fixed or at least looked at by the people who can.

I too hate that we can't click on the comments and go see the post it is made about and the rest of the comments on it.  Sometimes there are comments made on really old Blog posts!  It's always so much fun to go revisit those!!!  I very much hope we can get at least that back!  warrior

Didn't the comments used to be like it is on FarmBell?  Not sure why it was changed, but Suzanne must have had a reason yes

Anywhere there is that font (cursive) or even the font that's used in the blog post titles, it is actually .gif image file...wordpress has a plugin to use any font for titles and it loads as a gif.  So if there is problem with images loading, it will show up with a red x or something not right.

Well, hunh.  Yep, that's what it does.  I just looked at the link and it had a comment number...didn't look far enough. confused  Will try a fix.

Thanks to everyone who brought things up to us, at least the "I Love Your Comments" section is fixed so if you see a comment which is intriguing, you can go to the right blog section by clicking on the title now!  Thank you all very much!  The WebWitch took care of it for us!  (that's a compliment to a geek!)

Troubles with commenting:

Engage CITR

choose, read blog entry

scroil down to comments

sign in as directed

automatically returned to CITR home page

choose, read blog entry

scroll down to comments

sign in as directed (!)

This sequence may occur 2 or three times before the comment box is available. Firefox, Chrome

BTW Lately I've had to sign in each time I left browser (not quit, just closed). this may be part of the new dance to comment.

YIPES!  That sounds truly annoying!  I'm using Firefox, things for me are pretty smooth just now but I've had similar issues in the distant past and have found a few things that have helped.   .........    I know you are very computer smart so maybe you've already tried ths, but in the past, clearing out my cache and cookies has helped this sort of thing immensely.  I seem to have to do it every two to three months, and sometimes doing a full power off-restart afterwards, (as opposed to just a reboot) is helpful too.  (I also lay my hands on the monitor and tell it that it is "healed" as well!  That's pretty much optional though)

Deb: Sorry, dumping cache didn't/doesn't work. I do a total shut down every eve 'cause I don't like vampires and my mini is so compact it runs hot.

I may be having same/similar problem as others who are having sign in probs. I tried to comment 4 x today. Signed in at top right of page, also tried signing in within comment opening paragraph. Both in Firefox and Chrome. Each time I was requested to sign in and got the run around as above. This a a new (< 2 weeks) wrinkle.

Well, I don't know what else to suggest guys.  I know there are options about what cookies to clear out, and what parts of history and the cache etc to dump, but I'm not sure what the secret key is.  Going to do some more investigation on it, but I don't know what else to say for now.

On another and unrelated note, I'm trying very hard not to drip on my keyboard because I just got in from trying to get the laundry in off the line when a very heavy downpour just started.  It just started raining buckets without any "thunderous" warning, which is kinda good!  I just grabbed the heavy towels and largest things off, I figure the small stuff will just have to drip dry whenever it stops!  laugh

Here's one page that I've used in the past... it's from Mozilla, so it's mostly about Firefox.  Sorry if you've already reviewed this one.  I'm just tossing this out there for now because this helped me a while ago.

I'll go back to my hidey hole for a bit and try to come back later with more complete stuff.

Help! Does anyone remember the name of the (famiiy run) alpaca farm in the UP that had a kickstarter project this spring? The project was to buy up alpacas from a farm that was closing...I lost my bookmark. TIA
