OfflineDh received his notification of where he will be re-assigned in February. He will be moving to Ft. Meade, Md. He'll be looking for an apartment there and west (or NW) of there. If anyone is familiar with the area and can give advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
To answer foreseeable questions:
Children and I will remain where we are at.
He has two years before retirement and by the time we'd be able to move the whole family he'd only have 1.5 years.
It's possible, greatly possible, that he could be deployed once again. We do not want to uproot the children from where we are at, move to such a metropolitan area, and then say goodbye to him if he's deployed once again.
We'd had hoped that he'd get Ohio, but it is what it is.
Surprisingly I'm not upset that he didn't get where we wanted him to. It's a fast move. He has to be in place in less than 3 months. We hope that he'll be able to come home more often then what he does now, but that's unknown at this point. At least he's stateside for the time being, right?

OfflineTime will fly as you know. It's very hopeful that he'll be able to visit more often, or you'll be able to meet half way either with or without kidlets for a weekend here and there. We'll all keep our fingers crossed that there's no more deployments, but as you say, it is what it is. Thanks for letting us know, love to hear the news from our chicken sistas.

Thank you for your sacrifice for our country. I really appreciate it. We take every opportunity to say thanks to military personnel, but rarely get to say thanks to their families. I am so grateful to you and your family.
Aww, thanks!
My (and my whole family's) thanks also.
His – and your family's – commitment is a gift and honor to all of us. God bless and keep him safe!

OfflineSevern is a nice community our Parish Priest lived there for a time before he moved to Bel Air.
Getting from place to place here is pretty tough during rush hour. Which is really a three hour span morning and evening.
Don't believe anything mapquest says about driving times between 5:30 and 8:30 in the morning and between 4:30 in the afternoon and 7 pm. Sometimes a man on a bike makes better time than one in a car.

OfflineI used to LOVE riding my bike to base. It's a fantastic wake up in the morning, and after work, if the stress was high, I could pedal on and find some hills to work it off. I would drive one day and take enough uniforms to hang up in the office, enough 'unmentionables' to stick in my locker, and I'd be all set. We had showers right in our complex so it worked out super well… till I got a boss who didn't like me coming in in bike gear. …he was a real piece of work… A troop who got exercise on a DAILY basis, came in energized and ready to work, had enough attitude to want to go to the gym as well and loved to bike and run, and he didn't like me coming in wearing bike shorts so I could grab a uniform so I could hit the shower. ARGH!
OK, enough griping! This is neither the time nor the place. It all started because I thought it was so cool that your hubs is a cyclist too! It is such a great way to start the day off.

OfflineBE G,
Dh likes to ride. It's hard for him to find time to exercise so if he can combine commute with riding it's what he chooses to do. He did it regularly in Oh. Langley was too hard. Plus he's been gone more than being on location there anyway.
I can't believe the boss you had! I can guarantee that dh is NOT that kind of boss.
Thanks, Rileysmom!
