I've seen several topics on recycling pallets into useful homestead things, but go figure, looking now I can't find them anymore. I wanted to share some ideas that we've found to do with them around our homestead: http://lundkids.blogspot.com/2…..e-aka.html

I love the shower best, but some of the others have proven themselves irreplaceable too, and the price can't be beat! Ya!happy-flower

No, scratch that.  I'll just kidnap all of you.  Then I'll have you build stuff, milk cows & goats, make cheese, make videos…..  wink

Mary~ What nicely constructed stuff. My husband is afraid to use pallets because he doesn't want our place to look "junky". I'm going to show him your blog and maybe he'll change his mind.

Mary, that is all so awesome!  You know how I love pallets, LOL!  So many new projects!!!!!  I can't wait till our pallet barn starts going up.  We're still in the process of hauling the many pallets needed.

Clover made me do it.

I wanted to let you know there is a magazine out called Mary Janes Farm. Not this issue but the issue before they had an article about making a shed/smal barn out of pallets. It didn't look ugly or junky at all in my opinion. There may be a link or something on their website to it or maybe you can order a back issue.

ETA:

If you can't find a copy and are interested I do have the issue somewhere.

A number of years ago our local TV station did a news report regarding someone who had built a house using pallets.

Just in case, everyone should note the update at the bottom of the site posted above by tsmith regarding contamination of used pallets. I don't really worry about it, but some may.

Think of pallets as 4x4 foot modules that can be used in many ways. I think that they would need to be augmented with some long lumber. As the picture showed pallets and cable drums can be used as a source of wood for many projects.
