My photo of my goat Calabash is a finalist in Uncharted Visions photo contest.  She is a sweetheart!  I'd love it if my fellow Chickens in the Road members would put in a vote for me and/or share with your facebook friends – I'd appreciate it!  All you have to do is “like” my photo on facebook and your vote will be registered.  The link is: http://www.unchartedvisions.com/marci-nafziger-picture-frame-contest

Thanks so much happy-flower

Marci, cute pic! Love the frame too. Couldn't vote, no Like button on my screen. Oh well, I like it anyway!

Remember, if it rains on your picnic it's also raining on your garden!

MarciN, I'm curious about the name, Calabash. That is Swahili for a gourd container used for storing milk .

I (sorta) have a farm in Africa.

Isn't there a calabash tree…that produces a squash or gourd?

Pretty sure it's a gourd that grows on a vine, and they call it a bottle vine, or bottle gourd, so yeah, sounds like they're all the same thing!… or come from the same idea at least.  I guess Calabash the goat IS a container that holds milk so when you think about it, it's a perfect name!  laugh

Cute goat and gorgeous frame.  The like button is at the very bottom of the page on the turquoise colored band.  Good luck Marci, I hope you win.  By the way welcome to CITR.wave

Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like you do when no one is watching.

Thanks all!  I appreciate it.  My doe was named before I got her.   Buckeye Girl is right – it's a gourd that grows on a vine.  I also found out that the name can mean "sly" or "mischievous," very fitting for a goat and also for Cala's personallity in particular.  :)
