Have ya'll see this site? It's a great way to keep up with your favorite internet things that you don't want to forget about it. You know…saving ideas for later. I was going to 'pin' the forum post on dehydrating (with that great list from Leigh), but it wouldn't let me.

Admins..help?

Not quite sure what you are asking of us, mamaj…

Pinning on this forum is something that only admins/mods can do, based on the long term habits of the members, what we know will be of interest later, what hasn't worked in the past, and perhaps the phase of the moon.   cool

We try to keep the number of pinned topics to a bare minimum because we found that we tended to have so many topics pinned that we still could not find things.   help

On the other hand, if you just want to keep a copy of that list on your own computer, can you just copy it and paste it into a document that you store on your computer?  That's what I do with recipes and such that I want to keep.  Then I can enlarge them and make hard copies to add to my recipe notebook whenever.    yes

But we will try to help you out.  I'm still in "Whheeeeeeee" mode – just came from massage therapy.  Mind is still sorta muddled.   happy-flower

I think you mean pin on pinterest, not here, but I don't know anything about pinterest, so I don't know!

That is the direct link to Leigh's post with her list, if that's what you need.

You can find the direct link to any post on the forum by hovering your mouse over the "chain lock" just to the left of Print This Post in the header bar of each post.

Yes, I'm talking about pinning on pinterest.com I've found it very helpful for keeping track of websites. It's like a virtual bulletin board. Similar to ripping pages out of the magazine and filing them in folders. Except I would file those and never go back…You remember magazines, don't you? laugh Pinterest also allows you to follow boards of folks you know and they can follow you. So you can see what your friends have discovered that you might need to know, too! Virtual rabbit chasing.

Pete, that's a good idea about pasting links into a document. I'm getting too many bookmarks on my computer and they just sort of get lost and I forget about them.

You can't use the pinmarklet to pin a single forum post….hover on the chainlink like Suzanne mentioned, highlight and copy the url.  Then in Pinterest, "add" > "add a pin", paste the url into the http:// area.

Just a simple question CindyP.  Will the English translation of what you said be coming out any time soon?  sun2

Are you on Pinterest?  Check it out!  You have to have an invite to join to use the boards to "pin" things to.  I requested an invite back in July and it takes a few days to get the invite.  I finally joined a couple days ago (didn't see the email come in).   BUT if you want to join and you know someone who's already a member wink, let them know and they can invite you.

CindyP,

I'm not on Pinterest or even have a clue what it is.  I have Grammy brain today so when I read your post and then reread your post and reread your post I knew I was clueless.  Just wanted to pull your leg a bit.

o lovely.  I am on Pinterest…but still a little clueless how to use it.  In my toolbars I have a spot to slip in the 'pin it'  thingamajiggy…

and I can use that to add what I want to my board…but I am very new at it,  and just waiting for discussions like these to oil my creaky brain…

My daughter uses it for her '  imagined '  wedding,  and for decorating,  and for crafts of amazement,  and art she likes…boys like it for sport facts…

graphic designer son loves it !!!

so,  I would like to use it for tutorials on 'how '  tos also..as well as funny things from u tube  that u can never remember when u want to bring them up in conversations  !!!  Rats.

anyway,  I'll get downtoit soon…thanks for your tips !

I love Pinterest!  A word of warning…it will suck you in & before you know if you've spent an entire day "pinning".

It is a very handy way to keep track of all the interesting things you come across on the internet.  I especially like all of the different sewing tutorials, recipes, & craft ideas.  I like that I can pin something to a virtual bulletin board all without having to keep an extra magazine or ripped out pages around the house.

I love pinterest!  I was always finding things that I thought were very interesting on my internet searches.  I'd think "Oh, I like that idea."  Then I could never remember where I saw it.  Now I just pin it to my board.  You also get to see what other people are pinning.  It is very addictive!  I have boards for craft ideas, recipes, decorating ideas and fun stuff.

Just a word of warning….. Set a timer to limit yourself or you will spend the whole day pinning ideas to you board!  yes

first thing I did was UN follow all the things it assigned to me.  Don't like that!  My boards are very skimpy still, but whenever I find things to pin they're filling up slowly!

I did that too.  It kind of annoyed and frustrated me that they put all that garbage on my page.  I still don't pin things right, though, lol.

Oh, and I pulled the "Pin It" button to my bookmark bar, I use firefox and it's easy to do there.  Here's the link for that button. http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/  I skipped that part when I first joined and had to go back to look for it. help

My daughter straightened me out, lol.  I don't know how these kids just 'know' how things work, but I am sure glad they do!
