This quote was on one of those 'sendback' emails that promises good luck, etc—  I never foward any of those, but this quote is meaningful.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

This morning's quote from Foundation for a Better Life.  All of this week's quotes are on Hope.

“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up.”

—Anne Lamott (b. 1954), author, political activist

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.” ~~ Mary Anne Radmacher

Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass … it's about learning to dance in the rain

Amen to that! Today we'll get the chance to learn both literally and figuratively. It's pouring here, and the storms outside will pass. And I will learn to enjoy the more difficult events in my life — and dance.

“You have the need and the right to spend part of your life caring for your soul. It is not easy…To be a soulful person means to go against all the pervasive, prove-yourself values of our culture and instead treasure what is unique and internal and valuable in yourself and your own personal evolution.”

Our quote for today comes from Longfellow.  As we all are busy with our spring planting, it's a good quote to keep in mind.

“Kind hearts are the gardens, Kind thoughts are the roots, Kind words are the flowers, Kind deeds are the fruits, Take care of your garden And keep out the weeds, Fill it with sunshine, Kind words, and Kind deeds.”

—Henry Wadsworth Longfellow quotes (1807-1882); poet

Big stone, Jayne!

But I love this quote……..it's already in my favorite quote file.

Somewhere there's someone who dreams of your smile,

and finds in your presence that life is worth while.

So when you are lonely, remember this is true,

Somebody, Somewhere is thinking of you !

This has always been one of my favorite quotes…and I use it every day.  (…and those of you that are familiar with me – stuff it!  I can be sweet – I just don't fake it!)

“Most of us, swimming against the tides of trouble the world knows nothing about, need only a bit of praise or encouragement – and we will make the goal.”

I like this quote. Because think about it.  When we are really down and out, or something is bothering us, or there's something we don't want to do, or something we did that we think is great, doesn't it help when a friend acknowledges that, either with an encouraging word, or an atta girl?

Even things as simple as the 15 minute decluttering, isn't it easier knowing we are all here encouraging each other that we can do this?

Remember, you may be the only encouragement or praise a person gets in a day.  Make someone's day!
