If you are driving and willing to have a passenger, or you are able to come but need a ride, this is the place to find each other!
A couple of cautions though:
1. Please communicate by PM to discuss the details of where you live, email address, and that sort of personal info. You really don't want it hanging out here in this topic for all the world to see! (Yes, we are all friends here, but there are folks lurking around who may not have your best interests in mind.)
2. In this public topic, feel free to share general info, like maybe your county, area of your state or province.

Is anyone from the midwest making the trip? Maybe I could convince my husband to let me go if I had someone or several someones near Iowa making the trip with me???????

I am hoping I can go, and would not mind sharing a ride. I live in SC and would take 77 north thru SC, NC , VA then WV. My problem at this time is due to hubby's poor health, I can't make long range plans. Later in the summer I will have a better idea if I can go. I would love to meet the friends that I have here.

this is laur in st. louis. I read somewhere that somebody near Kansas City was travelling to the retreat… but of course, can't find it NOW …

Hi laur. I dont know about the ride sharing but to pm someone it is right on this box.. see where it says 'online' 'quote and reply' report post' then it says 'send pm'. click on that to the person you want to private message and bingo! :)

I am planning on making the journey from way up in the upper Northeast corner of the map!! I can't wait!! I must say that I've only been to WV once to visit (in-law) family & am not familiar with the area (fraidy cat!!!)

That could have been me way back when the retreat was first mentioned…but I can't go.
We're not allowed to take off the first two weeks of school and wouldn't you know…school starts later than usual so my two weeks wouldn't be up by then! Such a sad state of affairs.

Sure you can't fly out and rent a car? right after school gets out on Friday?? Monday is a national holiday, so no worries there.

Thought about that but… after I would pay for the retreat…plane…car…it all adds up. Maybe next year ( I am wanting to retire).

langela, I am from South Dakota and have been thinking about going but don't want to go by myself due to financial reasons (gas prices are ridiculous) and a super long drive alone!!! wondering if you were still interested or have found others around the area??? Let me know!
