Only show I am watching now that I am that into is "The City" on MTV…just because I have followed this show, from Laguna Beach to The Hills and now the spin off is The City – alot seems scripted, but it's a reality show. I also like Real Housewives of Orange County AND the one of them in New York (new series in Feb.), but am so glad I am not that shallow and worldly!~! Just fun to watch. LOL

We watched the new show "Lie to Me" tonite.  Pretty interesting.  I like all the different ways they can tell if someone is lying.

The only other shows we are watching is American Idol (my husband is addicted) Grey's Anatomy and Who wants to be a Millionaire.

I very seldom watch TV, but I was hooked on the Sopranos, now it's LOST, the 5th season started last night, and it raised even more questions.  I don't think the writers will ever solve the mysteries and will leave us hanging.

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

Its always my ambition to watch all of the movies nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.  So far I've seen Benjamin Button (I agree that it was too long, but great editing and cinematography) and Slumdog Millionaires (very original and just flat GOOD).  I've been wanting to see The Reader, so I'm going to have to scrounge around to find it in a theater around here…

Have you ever seen the movie The Songcatcher?  It's one of my all time favorite movies.  It's about a female music professor who goes to visit her sister in Appalachia.  There she discovers all the old music ballads that came across the ocean from Ireland/England area with our ancestors.  She sets about recording all these songs for posterity, and documents her life doing that.

I recommend it for a good rainy day movie.  To me the history of our heritage is just fascinating, and this movie feeds that!

Let me know what you think.

Oprah just had her show on and some of it was about the Oscars.  She interviewed the actors in Slumdog Millionare – sounds like a fascinating story.  I too want to see the Reader.  I love Kate Winslett!!  Never heard of Songbird though but sounds wonderful too.  Where is it playing?

Songcatcher was made in 2000, and came out on DVD in 2001. You can Google it – and read about it there…

I'm going to be glued to the TV (or using the recorder a lot) since most of the shows I like are starting with new episodes this week and next – Monk, The Closer, Burn Notice…I love the mystery/comedy aspect of the shows.

Last night me and my little munchkin were home alone so we watched Lilo&Stitch, brought back memories of me watching it with my oldest daughter.  It is a really cute movie for the little ones.

I used to never miss CSI or House but they have gotten too predictable.  I do like Burn Notice and Monk and I didn't know they were starting with new episodes.  Good to know Kathy!  Thanks!

The first Burn Notice of the season was Thursday, Jan. 22nd – so there have been two now. Monk started the season on the 9th of January. Don't worry, they will run a marathon and you can see the ones you missed.

I love The Dog's show…Dog the Bounty Hunter! I love the Chapmans! And, I like the mystery, action and the closeness of family. There's a lot of humor in it too. Heart You can visit A&E.com and find video clips of it there.

Somehow I missed 'Music of the Heart' when it came out. That's the one with Meryl Streep starting a violin program and then fighting to keep it going when the money was cut, and the arts were the first to go. (As usual.)

I had it on behind the computer screen while checking out the blog/forum this morning. The last hour had me crying, and then sobbing. The movie ended about 7 AM. Mike got up about 7:30 and saw my red puffy eyes and asked me who died. He always assumes the worst.

If you haven't seen it – if you are like me and the last movie you saw was 'The Sting' back in 1973 (just kidding – I've seen a few since then) – do yourself a gigantic favor and watch/rent this movie.
