Just started collecting vintage pyrex…what a blast! My son is also hooked :}  We're having a good time finding pyrex treasures at thrift stores & my son loves to hunt the internet for rare pieces. At first I thought this was a crazy thing to start collecting…but my big garden window in my kitchen looks great w/ all our treasures on display!happy-flower

happy-flowerThank you Bonita for this link. I have been in love with Pyrex for about 60 years now. I dont really collect to display, I use it all. I have so many of the old pie plates (pans) and use them all of the time. One of my favorites is the nesting set of Pyrex bowls, I think we have seen Suzanne use the large yellow bowl in her bread making. I have 2 sets and love them, they bring back so many memories. I use to pick the pieces up here and there, but they are quite pricey now, no matter how many pieces I have, I keep buying them when I find a piece I like. I use some of the extra pie plates as a gift along with a pie that I bake for gals that I know willl appreciate them as I do. I just I just love old "stuff".

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

My favorite Pyrex color is no color LOL. I love the clear stuff – pick up custard dishes, other bowls whenever I come across them in thrift stores, Goodwill. And use them all the time. My favorite and most used items in the kitchen I think.

Love the vintage Pyrex! In fact a lot of my casseroles, baking pans and mixing bowls are authentic "vintage", I got them as wedding gifts back in the "vintage" era of the late 1950's. I use them all the time.

Pyrex is a wonderful example of "made in USA" quality that has stood the test of time.

Just picked up a couple of storage pcs at a garage sale for $2. Left one pc which I now realize was part of the original set…wonder if I can go knock on her door….???

I (sorta) have a farm in Africa.

A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning a cupboard in the basement and came across my late mother's set of Pyrex mixing bowls.  As a child I remember her using these bowls all the time, particularly the small blue one that she always used to whip cream.  If I remember correctly I think there was a yellow one that went with the set but it probably got broken long ago.  After a thorough scrubbing I've been using the bowls while wearing a vintage bib apron, the kind Mom wore.  Thank you Mom for keeping these treasures.
