The fun of having a husband with his own buisines, is that I'm a gopher on a regular base.

Today pick up parts in the next bigger city…1 hour away..

will pick up animal food at the same time.

I am cleaning the house stem to stern. My daughter is bringing her boyfriend, no, THE Boyfriend, home to meet her parents. Got to have a clean house for the first meeting…after that, he is family. :)

Miss Judy, That sounds about right. The boys/men always think the house looks "fine".

I admit, I used to be the kind that would house clean if I was babysitting someones puppy, so I guess it is no surprise that I want a shiny home for this young man's first visit. But as I grow older and grow more aches and pains, house cleaning has become much less important…

mommajoseph, I don't know how familiar you are with the area, but another fine place to get your feet wet is the San Marcos River accessing it in San Marcos. Two parks are great for family get togethers. Rio Vista and City Park. The water is a constant 72 degrees. (Hot spring fed) Bracing anytime, but an awesome sight on a rare cold morning to see steam mist rising from the warmer than the air water. I sure miss the area. We used to tube the San Marcos with our daughter and her friends. Good memories.

Been one of those days here.  Frustrating, while actually nothing bad happened at all.  Just have been off center all day.  Or just not quite all there.  So had to share a little something.

Walked into BK wanting a veggie burger.  None on the menu, so bad mood was getting worse rapidly.  Little gal behind the register was smiling and told me happily that indeed they still have veggie burgers.  OK.  Order, pay, wait.  That's about the time I noticed that the young lady who waited on me was not the only one smiling.

Everyone working there was smiling!  And not the fake kind of smiles either.  They were clowning around just a bit as they worked.  The manager was calling for items, getting immediate affirmative responses, and thank you's were being handed out frequently.

All that pleasantry really got to me!  It was impossible not to catch the happy vibes coming from them.  Finally got my food, and sat down with a smile on my face, too!

Ahhhh.  Somehow the rest of the day has gone better.    happy-flower

Glad their happy vibes spilled over to you. Better to leave with a sun2 and not agrrr.

Today I made some hanging solar lanterns made from the top part of $3.oo solar lights glued to the top of mason jars that belonged to my mom. They had been filled with flood water so couldn't be used for canning. She has been gone for 54 years, so they are pretty old.

mommafox, could you post a pic of your solar lights? They sound really cute! What a good idea!

Thanks for the tip, Squeegees Mom! We drove back to DLS today and stopped at Hamilton Pool on the way since that what son's "friend" recommended. Trying to play nice. It was very pretty and we had a nice time, freezing in 68F water.

mommajoseph: You are welcome. It's always good to make nice with the "friend". It definitely could come in handy later down the line. Never been to Hamilton Pool. 68 degrees, huh. Nope, probably won't go, either. The 72 degrees of the San Marcos is just bracing enough. Have a great time for the remainder of your vacation, and a safe travel home.

Went to the Amish Bulk store and the clearance sale at the green house.

I am trying to get up enough energy to make some Apricot/Mango jam. I may wait until this evening…a little cooler and maybe the AC won't run as much…as good an excuse as any. In the mean time I am still going thru cookbooks and deciding which ones to give away. Kind of a slow moving day.

Well I am taking my DD to a friends house then I am heading to a funeral. It is not a close friend of mine but she was 34 weeks pregnant and lost the baby. I feel as though I need to be there for her. Then I am coming back after getting miss priss and cleaning the house….after that sort of a time I might try to do something fun and go pick strawberries…its a dreary day here with rain but it is something that would take my mind off the funeral. I'm having a hard time with this after having my miscarraige and now pregnant again, I thought I was in the safe zone after 12 weeks. Just reminds me how unpredictable life is and you are never safe with your loved ones….Sorry to be so gloomy today….

Just got back…about to make some spaghetti, it wasnt as hard was what I was expecting. I know this is going to sound mean, so please take it with a grain of salt!! I had a very VERY hard time understanding the pastor. It was a very southern baptist church and by about 1/4 of the way through it he was yelling at all of us and pounding his hand on the pulpit….Like I said please I dont mean to sound mean!!!!!!!

I picked miss priss up and she wanted to stay longer then what we could so that was a fight but I know tomorrow will be back to normal for me. Please keep the Walker family in your prayers. I know they are going to need all the support they can get from everywhere.

Bought ten bags of mulch and mulched around the manolia trees, weeded, watered and planted around various areas of the yard.  Today was an "outdoors" day and I was loving every minute of it.  When I was finished I was sweaty, grungy, sore and had a whopper of a bruise on my leg but it was so worthwhile and gave me a real sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
