At all times, not just stressful times!!!!  I have 5 brothers and 1 sister……..yea, we are way outnumbered!

What other reason could there possibly be for them? None that I can think of.

I can't imagine having more than one brother.  My mom said he is just like dad…all my dad had to do to his sisters was wiggle his eyebrows at them…and they knew he was up to something and would start screaming…grandma would get the switch…it didn't matter…he'd do it over and over and over again.

Finally got a clothesline up and hung up 2 loads of laundry today … nothing beats the smell of fresh laundry.

And I am trying to find a house/pet sitter for my next travels.  I have been looking to work in the US for some different experience but I am being quite picky about where I go.  I have been offered a job in Pheonix, Arizona (but can't stand the thought of sweating to death) and one in Tuscon (again the heat seems a bit much) … so tomorrow I will see what else they have to offer for 13 weeks.  If my plan works, I will take a 13 week assignment and then go home and see my family for Christmas before coming back home to the island.  I am actually hoping for northern California … but it also has to be a good move financially … can't lose money in the process.

I just don't think I could handle the 100-plus temperatures in Arizona.

Clover made me do it.

My sister lives outside of Phoenix.  She says the rest of the year makes up for the 2 hot months.  One time when one of my other sisters was talking to her on the phone she told her she had to go start the car so it would get warm.  It was 70 degrees.Cool  She rarely comes East during the winter.  She freezes.

I have to say Shells, I love what you are doing!  Sometimes I think, I Love my job, but I sure need a change of scenery!  I guess that's why I love to travel.  You are lucky to have the type of job that you can do that!

I miss the smell of fresh laundry.  I think I need a clothesline!

My daughter loves Phoenix…she said it is such a clean city…she travels there for work.  I've only driven through – and was in a state of exhaustion at the time – so I'm no help!

Shells – I agree – we cannot let you use the same house sitter that you had before!  You MUST find a new one!

Sally and I went to Phoenix in June one year. It was unbelieveable in the sun, but take one step into the shade and it was nice and cool. It was amazing. And yes, it is a beautiful city, in a very different kind of way. I would go back for sure.

Hey Georgia … I have missed  you.

Yeah, I suppose Pheonix in September to December might be tolerable … I may reconsider my initial objection to it.  I told them (the recruiting company) that I am available as of September 12 … so we shall see.

And Bee …. yeah, the last housesitter is a non issue, would definitely not use her, if for no other reason than to save all of you from my complaining once I come home.

Feel free to complain anytime Shelly – if I had come home to that, she would have needed emergency care!  Wink

I'm making a pot roast and going through old photos…… Which is very fun!  (Going through the old photos, not the pot roast.  I actually burned the pot the first time and had to start over….)

Dave and I have been living in the States now for almost 9 years and Shells, one of the things I recommend to fellow Canadians before they make any commitments to work here is to find out what the tax consequences are for each work situation in each state you may be working in.

We had a mess with our Canadian taxes (as did several other Canadians) the first year we moved down here and it took four years before it got resolved with Revenue Canada.

This is especially important for people who are taking short term contracts because you may end up owing both American and Canadian federal and state/provincial taxes on any money you make.

I'm not sure what kind of work visa you'd be coming into the States under but that will also make a difference as to where you will owe taxes.

I just finished – and packed – the garter for my daughter.  This is her "something blue" – and I sewed her sixpence on…since she won't be wearing shoes.  I'm very pleased with it!

Just got back from taking mom to a neighboring town for some business and visiting with family. It was nice. Dropped them off and came home to panting chickens. Turned on their mister for a while and put the soaker out on the garden for a while. Im trying to empty my water tank so I can raise it, not going to take long to do that. Need to get the car inspected sometime today, the month turned to 8 before I realized it. Gonna work on some christening gowns for my etsy shop.

I sure hope you took a pic of that garter.

Don't doing much here at work, the first of the month is so easy, the last part is chrunch time!!  But I do need to get to work on the new company buget.  Girlie is finally making some progress in her room, and now no matter how much I have fussed, reality is setting in.  She will be off to college in less than 2 weeks!!!  and it's about this time 4 years ago that I lost Linda,  sweet and sad times for me!!!

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

Hold on Jeannie and smile thru it all. Leavings of any kind are always hard. It was harder than I thought it would be to leave John in Corpus on Sunday. I actually thought I would be to excited about it all to realize how much I will miss him. Didnt work. But I keep busy and push on.

Just think about that sewing room to come!Shimmy
