I've prepaid bills, got the announcements ready to send after we return (off to a wedding soon), have fun files (tropical ones) organized with flight information and resort information…have been busy with paperwork and laundry today.

Bug Eyed   I think I might scream now…such tedious stuff!   Bug Eyed

Decisions decisions … got my leave from work to go to the US for a 13 week contract, now I need to find a house/pet sitter and actually decide where I want to go.

So far I have been offered Phoenix or Tuscon Arizona, Mine City Montana and San Francisco

San Francisco sounds like a great assignment, 13 weeks at the San Fran county hospital with housing arranged.

I'd be so tempted to go with San Francisco…the housing arranged part sounds great…so much to do in that part of the country…and it's a great time of the year too.

Be sure to keep us updated!

If housing is arranged – can you bring your pets?  (Probably not, but I was hoping…)

Wow, Shells!  I had an assignment in San Francisco some time ago.  It was only 8 weeks — but 8 weeks in a condo at Pier 39 wasn't too shabby!  I'm not sure I could live there forever (I need the hills and the animals) but it's a great place to be, and 13 weeks will give you enough time to really explore.

Let's see — Arizona (heat) or Montana (beautiful) but oh, San Francisco! I wouldn't have to think twice about choosing San Francisco over Arizona or Montana.  Cool breezes, beautiful city, great food…TAKE ME WITH YOU!

And Pete –

Rest, sleep, but check in with us so we know you are okay.  Short messages, two finger typing for awhile, but you'll be back on all ten fingers soon I hope.

Pete – singing you restful lullabies.  Nope, wait, I will just hum softly instead!

Shells, San Fran!  Without a doubt.  I love that area of CA.  Run down to Carmel, smell the fog – I love the dampness of the coast with fog.  Pretty congested but so much to see and experience.

Thanks, barb – that was a lovely tune!  And thanks everyone.  The good thoughts got through, and helped.   Wave

Have lost track of how many naps I took today!  Otherwise, not much going on.  Am grateful that I could get up and putz around a little bit, and get my own snacks.  Visit the doc tomorrow and get drains removed and this sticky, itchy bandage changed.  That will be soooo great.

Thanks, again, all!  It means so much.   Sun2

Today was quite a lazy day………a much needed lazy day.  This afternoon I went to my craft room to get some scissors and noticed this portable knitting machine I had gotten from Mom when we moved her up here 3 years ago.  She'd had it for quite a few years and had never used it.  So I pulled it out and read the book page by page until I knitted a dishcloth!!  Once I had it figured out, it took 5 minutes to knit a dishcloth, then I crocheted around it.  WooHoo, I can knit up some baby afghans yet before the babies are born!!

Exactly my thoughts!!!!  I can crochet, but there's just too many stitches on a knitting needle! Laugh

Good idea, Jeannie!  But, I have to bounce back on this one because I have another session later in the month (unrelated to this one).  After that I should be able to do the milking it thing!  Yep, I anticipate being just about the most pitiful thing you can imagine then!

Doing very well here.  The real milestone will be the unrestrained use of the shower!  I feel good enough to go to a couple of meetings, but it is such an ordeal to do a one-handed sponge bath and dressing that it just isn't worth it…

(OK, that sounded pretty pitiful!  Just practicing for later!!  Cool )

Well … there goes the San Francisco idea .  As of 0800 this morning, California no longer does a "walk-through" license.  On Friday I was told that if I called the board of nursing and asked exactly what papers were required and took them with me to the board office I could have a license within 24 hours.  Today I am told that they changed that and it will take up to a month because the FBI cannot release results of the fingerprints fast enough.

So, currently San Francisco is out.  I am sad.
