Exercising…and cleaning.  I want to get as much done before this weekend as I can…upstairs rooms can be closed off (company coming the following weekend).  I want to play this weekend…and it's time I exposed myself to the sun…gently…I have redhead skin…I can't be going to an island as white as I am…I'll sizzle, burn and turn into a crispy critter!

Why don't all of you come join me around the pool?

Be there right after lunch!Sun

Cool  Cool!

Sounds like a perfect day for me too.  I'll be over soon.  Bringing the beverages!

Thank you, I didn't think I had it in me, but it feels good to get rid of stuff.  I even threw  away some soap slivers and shampoo bottles with a tiny bit still in them.   I have also been bringing things to work and giving it to friends who I know like that kind of stuff.  I got a copper tea kettle, with white ceramic knob and handles on it.  The ceramic has a blue design on it, I gave it to a lady who has her kitchen done in that Blue Willow stuff and she just loved it.  I paid $2.00 for it several years ago, and had no use for it at all, it was just a very good buy.  This lady has had serious problems with diabetes and I made her happy for no reason at all, just passing along a teapot that didn't mean anything to me.  That feels good!!

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

I have decided that it's high time for me to organize my recipes.  I am going to write all the ones that are floating aorund on cards and random pieces of paper down on the pages in my recipe book.  Then I am going to add some others from the cooking section of the blog that just sound too good not to have on hand!

I'm at work, on hold, we're painting my office today!!!  I'm in hold pattern while the guy helping me is looking for a screwdriver to take a cabinet out of the wall.  No fancy colors, just a lovely cream, which is better than the stark white it is now.

Any one want to come help??

We are in the process of re-doing my oldest daughters room. We painted the walls bright white and ripped up all her carpet to revael the hard wood floor and in the processs of painting the trim black.

So sorry jane I would come help but i'm about painted out.

Hey — you guys are just getting a jump on our 4th of July celebration. Oh, wait!  That's probably not something the British colonies would celebrate…

Canada Day, of Fete du Canada in Quebec, is our national holiday celebrating the anniversary of the july 1, 1867 enactment of the British North America Act (BNA Act) which united Canada as a single country.  At the time it was composed of four provinces.

So while Canada is still considered a Monarchy, the country functions quite independently of the British.  There is an honorary representative called the Governor General.  Some years the Queen has been at celebrations in Ottawa, the Canadian Capital.

We celebrate being our own wonderful country, some will celebrate the British connection.  My friends working at the Kandahar Airfield Hospital in Afghanistan (which is a Canadian led hospital) will have a big celebration.  One of the nurses I work with is over there for 4 months as is one of our doctors.  The kids on the ship I worked on will celebrate Canada Day where ever they are, as they fly the Canadian flag it is considered Canadian soil.

Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian chickies!   Heart

Your description of celebration wherever you happen to be reminds me of being abroad for an Independence Day (July 4), Shells.  I hadn't thought about it before we left for Ireland, but the evening of July 3 it hit me pretty hard.  We came into Dublin early on July 4, and scrolling across the top of one of the tallest buildings in the city was the message, "Happy Birthday America!"  It sure made me feel terrific!

We are into preparations here for Independence Day revelry.  Lots of food, the company of good friends, and some fireworks to finish off the evening.  Ahhhhh.

My good friend is from Idaho, but married an Englishman and has lived outside of London for almost 20 years.  The holiday she misses most?  Thanksgiving.  So all their friends are treated to a turkey dinner on the last Thursday in November – our Thanksgiving.  The friends all thought it was odd at first to have a day to eat turkey in November, but now look forward to the invitation.

Now Im home and nursing another little chick that after breaking the shell 3 days ago, finally got forced out of it this afternoon. Poor little thing was dried out and stuck in a little ball. I bathed him and used a tiny soft brush to get the stuff off and am keeping him in a warm place. Hes beginning to stretch out a bit.

Productive day today Happy Feet

Made homemade liquid hand wash for our soap dispensers.

Made homemade washing gel for the washing machine.

Jazzed up a pkt cake mix by putting some chopped marshmallows and chopped choc in the batter and then dusted with icing sugar when cooked and cool. Looks delish!

Lots of washing and cleaned the bathroom from top to bottom,

Hope you are all having lovely daysWave
