Am going to be VERY careful today with any and everything attempted.  The day started out by sleeping in waaaaay longer than expected.  Much too late to make it to church.  Then, got a cup of coffee.  There was milk, cream, canned milk, whipped cream and buttermilk all sitting together on the milk shelf.  Wanna guess which one went into my coffee?      Bug Eyed

You are doing better than me, Shells!  I'm still in my jammies!   Smile

But, the second batch of hamantashen is finished.  It tastes fine, but not many of them ended up triangular in their finished state.  Oh, well.  There is obviously something that a Jewish grandmother should have shown me that was missing!

Now, to get ready for the meeting for which these things were made.  Then maybe early to bed to make up for getting up so late?

My day is ending with the fair/4-H animal show/arts & crafts/dance/carnival/funnel cakes going on across the street. Complete with super horrible traffic.

Right now we are sitting here listening to Rick Trevenio singing his concert. Tomorrow is Roger Creager.

I really should make plans to take a trip on this weekend every year. Think I will start that next year.

I know where you can vacation!

Just got home from a weekend in South Florida.  I actually tricked my brother into thinking I was in Texas.  He called me while I was on my way and asked were I was going.  San Antonio…. I also told him I'd just gone through Dallas (which I had, wasn't lying)  But both towns are in Florida.  He thought I was in Texas!

Had a great time with the girls.  I worked on some cards for a swap, made 36 cards total.  Some for me, some for the swap, all Christmas.  I am in a Christmas card making mood!  May post some in my shop in a few weeks.  I want to get some more samples made first.

Love the cold weather that has moved in.  I hope it stays this way for weeks!

Tomorrow is back to work

And today I am going to (between baby duties, gotta cuddle you know) make my potato bread starter. work on cleaning out some flower beds when it warms up enough for them to go outside. Got 6 flats of small mum plants given to me (Yea Suzanne, freebies!) and have to get them in the ground for our quick fall.

Our fall fell last night.  I woke up to 22 degrees and the tomato plants are now most definitely dead.

Saturday I went to see a couple of potential new additions to my farm, and this morning they were delivered!  Meet Molly the mule, and Jack the donkey.  They have been raised with sheep, and will be pastured with our sheep to protect them. Jack is brown/beige with a wooly coat on his back and a darker stripe down his spine and across his shoulders.

Molly is black, and I didn't get any really clear photos of her, but I'll try again tomorrow.  She has the face and head shape of her horse side.  (Mules are a cross between a horse and a donkey.  They cannot reproduce.)

You can see the stripe down Jack's back in the first photo.

They are right at home in the pasture.

Yesterday I discovered that Kroger had pork butt roasts on sale for 99 cents per pound so we bought three good sized ones and today we're making Oven Kalua Pork (a home version of luau pork).  The roasts are marinating now and then will cook for 4 to 5 hours wrapped in banana leaves until the pork is fall apart tender.  Then we'll let it cool enough to shred it and then freeze it in meal-sized portions.

LMAO … very good Leah, I like that one.

I am finally over the "flu".  Gosh I don't remember it taking that long when I was younger.    Its a lovely fall day here today, will soon take the dogs for a walk, do some yard clean up, relax

2 of my babies left early today with fever. One is flu+ the other has a cold. It was a quiet day. Me and the baby baby sat in the yard watching the guys clean out the flower beds and plant all my fall mums. Looks really nice for a change.

Leah, well, I'm glad I found about this new disease!  ROFLMBO!!

Shells, those "flu" days are what in a disgustingly way reminds us of our age…..how I miss those younger days, too!

Georgia, hope the babies feel better fast!!!!!  I just hate it when they are sick Cry

Me, I'm making another batch of soap.  This one is a oatmeal/honey with a goat's milk base…..  I need a goat!!  Fresh milk would be best, but I had to use the canned……$4.39 for a 12 oz can!!  Holy smokes!!!  That works out to $23 a gallon!!!!  It's cooking now….I can't wait to see the end product!!!!!
