Oh, phooooey! I was gong to stop at Krogers on the way home to see if they still had any of those pork butts! Had to go to a meeting and am back home already in my jammies. (Seniors get 5% off on Tuesdays, so that is when I try to make all the Kroger purchases.)
Think we are about done for the day. Had to run off the road to miss a deer, and it was very close to a collision. Those sorts of things never used to rattle me, but this one did. Almost but not quite is the much better option, but still disturbing.

Gotta watch those deer for sure! We saw plenty on Sunday going to the coast. A few had already met their match before we got to them.
So Cindy, are we going to see this recipe in Just Recipes???

Big stuff today! Spent about an hour looking for a recipe here and in my own files for canning that I'd already printed out and was sitting oh-so-patiently waiting in the Ball Blue Book back cover. Grrr…
Then had to talk with the garage door guy about replacing the door that broke late last night. He can get it done tomorrow, so there goes yet another day! Got a good estimate, but still don't want to think about the price. And it won't match the old door on the other side. We will pretend that it is a design element to have mismatched doors, until I simply can stand it no more! Am hoping that since you don't get a really good view of both of them at the same time, even though they are side by side, that it won't be too tacky.

Call it eclectic and let it go at that.
Nursing a husband that is probably down with the flu. Actually just ran to the bedroom and got my pillows and stuff that I need and sent him in there and shut the door. Went to wmart and stocked up on meds, taped a note on each one when to take it, filled his thermos with ice water. Took it all in with a box of tissue and left. See you on Monday.
I did call my moms and let them know. One baby is out with the flu already and one had fever yesterday. Mom took him and had him tested and was negative.
This is just NOT what I wanted to deal with right now.

Yep, would really rather deal with the garage door than the flu, G. You have my sympathy, for sure.

Good Morning Girls!
It's Fair opening day here. I'm hoping the rain holds off. Today is 75 cent admission and $7.50 handstamp for rides. It will be packed I'm sure. I have a short shift tonite, just til 6 p.m.. Long enough to get good fair food for dinner and hit up the homemakers for some canned goods that I don't have time to can. I usually get hot peppers for the kid, a few jars of dill pickles for me and some berry jam. I'll be looking closer this year tho to see what else they have, all of your canning recipes have my mouth watering.
I'll take lots of pictures!

Yesterday was PERFECT! Sunny, 70's and exactly as I picture fall should be. We should have another day just like it today before we get a couple of days of thunderstorms, but still relatively warm daytime temperatures. Nights have dipped below freezing, but even the nights are warmer the last few days.

Have to run a couple of errands, then check out the new garage door, then process some hot peppers. Still some left on the plants, most of which are fairly well protected. The frost got a couple of them. Others are still blooming!

Good Morning Ladies,
I now realise I am somewhat like a Daniel who has stuck his head into a lions den!!!
I intend to read Suzanne's Blog from cover to cover.Tread softly,speakquietly and make sure not to offend,especially after reading just two entry's that sent shivers down my spine;
1. Georgia Z. Women roar,Men iron…
2.Marisa. Comment on "Balls"…When her Husband gets uppity, she will remind him of this story…ouch.
I also realise that the pioneering spirit, that has stood America in such good stead. Is indeed not dead, but thrives in WV,where woman are women, thank the Lord.
Large pot of coffee and down to work.
Chris.

I agree, we do tend to roar a lot here but most of us are totally harmless. I would never roar at my husband, about him yes…but never at him.
When I first came across This blog, I went all the way back topage one. It took me a few days to soak it all in, but it is really great reading that way.
As for the forum, luckily, we try to go in and clean out each thread as often as we have time. But we leave the important stuff.
So brew a full pot and enjoy your day of reading.
