Hi Barb, I've just come across this post so I'm not sure exactly what's happened but looks as though your husband has had some kind of heart surgery. The news you just got sounds great so all must have worked out the way you both had hoped. I know what it feels like to wait for the doctors news and you're right…it feels like a HUGE weight has been lifted off your shoulders. I'm so happy for you! As you said…now you can really take good care of each other and remind each other to KEEP HEALTHY. We sure take our health for granted until something like this happens. All the best to you and your husband!Fork

I'm waiting for a couple of big packages to be delivered to us here at the farm. It's a wonderful HUGE cabinet that I bought online. We moved to this small farmhouse with a small cellar that you cant store anything in…from a HUGE 1800 sq ft 1902 Victorian that had a beautiful FULL BASEMENT (ya can you believe it …it was original to the house too!) and it was crammed full of stuff! I love to do scrapbooking and make cards and paint and draw and all my stuff is sitting out in one of our storage buildings since JUNE! I'm hoping this big cabinet will hold all my supplies so I can get my 'creative juices' flowing again! I just checked and the boxes are in Wichita….just a meer 20 something miles from us so hopefully they bring it today…I'm so excited!! Shimmy

It's a chilly rainy day here, leaves falling too too fast as Suzanne says!  A good day to make chicken soup, and bake some bread.  Just got that down to rise.  Timing will be a little off on the bread, but oh well, it'll taste yummy no matter when we eat it!

My father (90 yrs old!) started talking about my mother's potato dumplings, so tonight I'm going to work on making them.  I'm 52 and haven't made them since… well, probably at least 20 years ago with my mom.  I hope I can do her memory justice!

If tomatoes are a fruit, then isn’t ketchup technically a

smoothie?

Today was our last farmers' market of the season.  We still have a potluck on the 8th of November so we can look back at the year and we'll all see each other one last time until next season.  Next May when the market opens I'll be READY!  I got the greenhouse assembled, on its foundation, and the floor a 1/2 foot of gravel.  I have access to a natural gas line (not yet run, but in the plans) and I'll use an old floor-standing heater to take the chill off so I don't lose my early seedlings.  I have a box full of used waterbed heaters (thanks to Mike's years in the business) and they make great sources of bottom heat to get those seedlings going.  I have three round bales of mulch hay in the garden waiting to be rolled out over the manure we got from the chicken house and the barn…  I'm READY!

Of course I have to get through winter first.

Good Morning Chickies!

TGIT!  Our fair is almost over and I'll be glad to have some time back to myself.  Our scrapbooking exhibit this year had phenomenal talent.  I can't wait to see who won "People's Choice".  It won't be me, I didn't enter, since I count the votes.  By I'm excited knowing who the top five are.   So tonite I'll run by there again, check on things, before I head over to hubby's football game.

As far as just today goes, I'm busy here at work.  I miss playing so much with you girls.  It sounds like everyone is busy with fall.   Kath, we just had a new farmer's market open up.  Even tho it's on my way to and from work, I haven't had a chance to stop and shop.  But it's on my agenda for next week when I don't have fair!

That's great Leah…it's nice to meet someone who scrapbooks too! So far no one in my family really does it..one makes cards but that's it. I haven't done much over the last couple of years with my scrapbooking so I'm a bit out of touch (and behind!) with what's new so I'll have to check out Two Peas In A Bucket to see what people are doing that's new. Nice to meet someone with something in common!

Well, I get to update you on what someone else did with her day…

Pete had the surgery on her eyes today.  She is home tonight…she had a few issues…so she didn't get into recovery until this afternoon.  She sees the doctor again tomorrow afternoon – until then, she is to keep her eyes shut as much as possible.

I hope she sleeps well tonight – and that she has a quick recovery.  I'm sure she that when she is healed, she'll be glad this is behind her.

Fill her PM box with love…I'm sure someone will read it to her.

Well, first I have to pick up after the 4 little kittens! You should see the mess they've made. Theres newspaper, dvd's,mail, scrapbook supplies on the floor in the living rm/dinning rm area. Not to mention the all the saved plastic bags from the grocery on the kitchen floor! They figured out how to get into the cabinet under the sink where I store them! I keep all the doors to the other rooms closed, thank goodness!SmileCoolLaughHelp

Then, I need to hit the shower and get ready for lunch with Aim and Baby Brooke. Think we'll visit my Mom this afternoon.Happy Flower

My new cabinet came yesterday and we finally got it put together after about 4 hours! Looks wonderful and today I hope to start getting my scrapbook/crafting stuff put in it. I'll also probably be helping my hubby do firewood once he get's up (works nights). Love having a wood stove!Fork(pitchfork!)

The scrapbook albums go ontop the dresser. Also have several totes and a scrap wheeled tote and lg tools bag. Not to mention my table top at the moment.
