My new cabinet came yesterday and we finally got it put together after about 4 hours! Looks wonderful and today I hope to start getting my scrapbook/crafting stuff put in it. I'll also probably be helping my hubby do firewood once he get's up (works nights). Love having a wood stove!Fork(pitchfork!)

That's great Chic! I have a large dresser with lg drawers in it in my spare bedroom that I can fill with scrapbook supplies. The scrapbook albums go ontop the dresser. Also have several totes and a scrap wheeled tote and lg tools bag. Not to mention my table top at the moment. (Can you tell I'm a serious scraper/cardmaker?Hahahaha!)

Geeeez Leah…you really are a serious scrapper!!! I've seen those 'totes' that you can put all your scrapbook stuff in…they look like they could hold a lot of stuff and heck…you've even got one on wheels! Do you go to scrap..shoot forgot what they are called LOL..anyway do you get with others to do your scrapping or cropping? I'm so excited to just be able to have my stuff indoors and also get my table in here so I can start something. Just remembered I need to get a new cartridge for the printer before I have any pictures ready but at least I can PLAY with my STUFF!!! It's gonna be a GREAT day! Hope yours is too LeahHugFork

I've been working around the house all day…and then I decided that I really needed to do some grocery shopping.  OOPS – the groceries are still in the car…must put those away…was getting lost on here.  I decided to pick up lunch – and thought I'd eat that before bringing the groceries in.  It's cool here today, but I need to do that next!!!

Pete met with the doctor this afternoon.  Since she had a bit extra time in surgery yesterday, there is more swelling than usual.  She is cleared to read, but must stay quiet.  She'll get her stitches out on Monday.  She said to tell everyone that she'll be back…it will just be a few days longer.

Keep her in your thoughts!  The surgery is looking to be very successful.

I'd love to see your new cabinet!  Can you post a picture?  I'm a scrapper too.  I mostly make mini albums rather than pages.  With alot of cardmaking thrown in for good measure.

About a month ago I came across an old wood file cabinet that was missing one side.  I didn't let that deter me.  I grabbed the cabinet and our carpentry shop at school is remaking the missing side.  It's supposed to be done this week, so I'll have somewhere else to store my supplies in my scraproom.

I'm glad you're here!

Spent the day sleeping in and just generally relaxing. Blaze and I have been going non-stop since like June it seems, so we were glad for the down time.

Tonight we're watchin' the old B-Horror movies on TV. Fun fun!

We bought a new chest freezer a few weeks ago in anticipation of the trip to the butcher today to pick up the beef and lamb we sent to 'freezer camp' a couple of weeks ago.  We took the animals to the butcher's house and he loaded them in his trailer and took them to his shop so I didn't really know where the shop was located, just that it was the other side of Charleston (south and west of me about 50 miles).  When I got the detailed directions yesterday I found out that the other side of Charleston actually meant almost into Kentucky!  I had a 93 mile one-way drive today to go pick up the meat.  It was so worth the trip.  They did a wonderful job, cut it just the way I wanted it, and then vacuum sealed it and flash froze the meat.  I plan to use them again when the time comes.

But it was one LONG day that ended with frozen fingers as I transferred the meat to the new freezer.

I made Hard-Tack candy yesterday morning.  In the afternoon, we ventured out for a few errands.  I happened to find a group of artists…and one teaches weaving…and lives close to me!  I'm going to see about taking lessons…and I'm very excited about this.

Today…I have a lot of projects calling my name around this house.

Did I tell you that I received Christmas gifts on Friday?  Insanity.

I have a wedding shower this afternoon.  But I have been up since before dawn – my internal clock did not switch back just because the clocks did!  I have accomplished a lot already though.  Should be a beautiful day to accomplish even more.  Enjoy your day of rest, my friends.

We are getting ready to take our nannies for a visit with a viral billy down the road.  I'm going to miss them so much!  It's a little too far to go and see them each day, but I'm sure I won't last a month without seeing them.  They are Nubians, with long floppy ears, and a mournful bleet designed to make me feel guilty if I haven't given them some grain as a treat.  They are my cute, cuddly puppy dogs with long legs!

I am canning. Yesterday it was 16 pints and 5 half pints of hotdog chili that was no longer allowed room in the freezer since I also just put half a cow in there (yeah Kathy I love the vac sealing). Last weekend I scored one of the last boxes of green tomatoes so today it is a pot of Sandwich Spread. First batch in the water bath. In the meantime, a few storm windows put up and laundry going.

As Kathy said, yesterday morning was warm and beautiful, but that was the end of that. Pretty today but barely over 50 here.

Today David and I dug up and moved a HUGE musk rose called Buff Beauty.  We are putting roses in the front near the road where it will almost be a living fence.  In front of the rose we put a nice post that just defines the rose spot for me.  So far they are doing great, I just had to prune Buff Beauty up a bit.  I planted amaryllis bulbs  around the rose post and divided up some day lily clumps, put those around the post too.   I can not wait to see all this in bloom.  I still have roses on most of my bushes, they are so pretty.

I have discovered that when I buy rose from rose nurseries on line that most times there are 2 roses in a pot!  I didn't know this so I just planted the bush in the pot and in fact was putting 2 roses in each hole.  When I dug up some roses to put in pots is when I discoved 2 roses in the hole…LOL   So for now on when I order roses when I go to plant them I will carefully make sure that 2 roses are not in that pot!  Usually it is a happy surprise to find 2 roses in a pot!  That happens because the nursery is trying to make sure that one of them will root so they put 2-3 cutting in each pot.  One may die so there are 2 roses per pot.  Very nice….!

I made 3 loaves of banana nut bread and it is fabulous.  I always double the amount of pecans that the recipe calls for just because we like pecans.

Now I'm thinking of popping over to the library and getting a book or two.

Today, I've been trying to re-adjust to Standard Time.  Ordinarily, I'd be setting  the table in preparation for a bigdamn weekend meal, but now I'm kinda waiting for the time to come.  The chicken is in the oven (not the road) surrounded by celery and carrots.  The cauliflower is cleaned and cut up and in boiling water prior to become mashed cauliflower.  The dry part of the biscuits is in a bowl waiting to be mixed with buttermilk to become bikkies.

The dog is the one for whom I feel.  She's used to her dinner being at 3:30, DST.  She had to wait a whole hour longer and expressed her disapproval with grunts, shoving her possibly forgotten face into our palms, and occasional volleys of barking.  She doesn't understand why her normal routine should be upset by an overbearing government with no regard for dog tummies.

It's also gloomy, damp, and chilly.  Fortunately, the rain has finally stopped, but when I look at the fallen leaves, I groan because I'm going to have pick them all up AND I DIDN'T PUT THEM THERE!!!!!!!!!

I made three more batches of Hard-Tack candy today…wild cherry, raspberry and root beer.  I think I'm done…now to jar, bag and tag for Christmas.

I'm waiting on my little brown dog.  I haven't seen her for three weeks.  My daughter and her husband tried to keep her…and when I said NO…then asked if I'd potty train a puppy for them…and when I said MY HECK NO…I got a big *sigh*…  If I train a puppy, I'm keeping it!  They cannot have my baby!

This day is dragging on forever…even though I have gotten a lot done…

Actually my "little brown dog" just turned five on October 17th.  My Sassy is an English Springer Spaniel – field bred.  My daughter and her husband have a six year old Springer Spaniel…and they want another ESS puppy.  They both work long hours…and work a way from the house…so they wanted me to house train their pup.  I think not!

MY DOG IS HOME!!!

I have a springer spaniel too … her dad was field bred and mom was show … my Abby is scared of birds and I keep her puppy clipped so she is neither!!! Having one ESS is so much work … I would be afraid to get a second one .. so I went with a low-key breed instead and got Monty for her.  My Abby is eight and is a liver/white … very pretty.

My grand-dog is black and white – half show/half field.  She looks like a panda.  My Sass is liver and white…  Just love this breed!

I've seen pictures of your Abby…very pretty!

My dog is mad at me.  She is going to ignore me for a few hours.  She has been out back chasing squirrels and striking terror into the doves.  She's Home!

I could say yes to house breaking a child (maybe), but I couldn't say no to a puppy.  I'm a total softie when it comes to animals… people not so much.   If that's wrong, then I'll have to suffer for it, but I can't help it.  There's always someone who will take care of a child, not so many who will take care of a puppy, or a kitty, or a pig, or a chick, or a duckling, etc, etc, so on and so forth.   Domesticated animals live at the whim of people and they're survival is our responsibility.

Maybe I've been screwed by people too many times.  I've never been screwed by an animal.

I like animals and plants.  They're honest creatures.  If they bite, there's a reason for it.
