Went to walk the ranch at 6:30 am before it got hot.  Been doing a little here and there around the house.  Going to grill outside and sit in front yard and watch my little town's fireworks at 9:30 pm.  In the meantime as it is hot hot hot I am going to read my book, nap and watch a movie.  The ultimate holiday!

Hanging out with the bubbas…

The band has arrived, very early, but they enjoy some down tine with the rest of us Plebians.  We had a good campfire breakfast, complete with raisin pumpernicle toast!  Snacks for lunch amid preparations for the dinner feast, music and fireworks.

Last night I made the whole wheat version of Suzanne's quick mix biscuits.  We threw the scraps into the camp chicken stew, it was exceedingly yummy.

Are we having fun yet?  I hope y'all are, because we are having a blast here!  They made me try something involving the mixing of beer with a Bolthouse veggie drink.  Uhhhh.  It was interesting, but I think it needs some lime juice.  Can someone please pass me a lime??

Ill go pick one now Pete. And I was wondering today just where you are celebrating.

I actually just go up from a 2 1/2 hour nap, like heaven. Except for the part where someone actually gets that little ball to go in the hole in the ground and John yells and I jump like Ive been stuck by a hot poker.

Thinking about whats going to be for supper.

After baking around the pool, we came inside.  I fell asleep on the floor…I was sound asleep until my husband started playing around with ring tones…I must have come to life rather quickly…as he said he didn't know I had some of those words in my vocabulary!

G, we're in a friend's yard!  He has some acreage, so there is plenty of room for a pond, a firing range, hiking trails, gardens, hay fields, and the house and out buildings.  No goats or chickens, but his neighbors have those.  Just fun among friends, family, and whoever shows up for the entertainment and fireworks.  It is always great fun.

Everyone must be recovering from fireworks overload.  Sleeping in this morning??

Another lazy day on my agenda.  Pool time for sure today, preceeded and followed by scrappin' time.  Enough left overs from yesterday to feed us well today.  My butt hurts already from sitting so, I'm getting moving here soon.  Half a cup of coffee left to go!

Was definitely a sleeping in morning today!!  Out too late with the kids last night! Laugh

It's just a relaxing day here…….nothing much on the agenda (at least right now, always subject to change).

I'm enjoying a quiet day.  It rained briefly this morning, but it's clear and sunny this early evening.  The weatherman is predicting sunny weather for the next week with the temperatures creeping up a little each day until by Friday we may get close to 90 degrees.  Not looking forward to that! I am at work in the ER overflow unit, admitted patients with no beds available, so I have 3 elderly sweethearts to look after.  I changed from a night shift to work 10 am to 10 pm and get double pay for making the switch, how much easier could it be !!!

But I am a tad bored, hence my visit to CITR

We got home to a delivery of boxes from Birdi!  The unfinished ones she has listed in her shop.  They are WONDERFUL!  They will be terrific for storing canning jars.  They are a real inspiration to fill them now!

The rest of the day will be VERY low-key.  Unpacked only the absolute necessities.  We had to take our time and pack up between the showers so we are both exhausted.  But very happy campers…

(You don't get to say that often and mean it literally!)

But isnt it great you can check in while at work! I think I would totally loose my mind if I couldnt jump on here and tune some of it out every once in a while.

…um…well…life on this "farm" (it's actually a zoo) has been lively today!  We finally helped our son with his projects…after putting him off for two days.  Friday – because it was too busy.  Saturday – because he called and announced he'd like for me to help him pick out some curtains.  Decided today would be a better day to do everything…so today it was.  Ironing curtains, hanging curtain rods (brand new apartment), hanging pictures…did some furniture arranging.

Tomorrow it's my turn…time to work on my own home.

My day didn't go as planned either.  But it was a good day none the less.  I finally put in some pool time in our pool.  It's the first time all year I've been in it.  That's terrible.  So I got my suit on, pulled my floatie out, grabbed my book and read for an hour and a half, while floating around.  It was nice really.

Put some time in the scrap room, wanted to do more but the oldest boy surprised us with a visit.  He had a day off with not much to do, so he came over.  He brought my Mother's day present, a beach chair.  I love it!  It reclines flat.  No more laying in the sand for me!  I may even take a hooky day from work to try it out!

The guys cleaned out part of the shed, getting ready for the shed remodel/backyard remodel.  I cooked them a nice chicken penne pasta dinner in my new baker dish.  They loved it, so I'll be making that again!

Back to work tomorrow.

Today is looking like a beautiful day……… Sun

I get to finish my grocery shopping that I gave up on on Friday (day before the 4th and WAY to busy)…. a little bit of weeding in the garden……..and if it doesn't get too hot out, some rearranging in the yard………

At work today, but we had a great weekend. Sister came up and we loaded her car full of stuff for the Church's yard sale.  It feels good to give stuff that will be sold and the money will go to their building fund.  The sad thing about it, is that you can not really tell much difference in the house.  Still have a lot of stuff that I don't really need.  When Girlie goes to school in Aug, I will pack up more stuff and maybe by Christmas my house will be DECLUTTERED!!!!   except for my sewing and craft room, of course!

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

Cleaning…so I can have fun cooking later in the week.  I love to cook, but don't enjoy it when tired…trying to get a jump on my week.  Today is going well…in fact, Georgia helped me dust!  I hate dusting, so I called her and forced her to chat with me while I polished off two rooms!

Thanks G!

I am having a lazy day … work nights tonight.  I did clean the sunroom that the dogs use for sleeping in though, I have so much sand in my back yard and they track a lot in so I swept up sand basically.  Now we are all inside enjoying a relaxing rainy day.  Monty is currently highly entertained by a fly that is buzzing around … funny funny dog.

My Sass (a Springer) is our fly catcher!  She gets this serious fur face look…and all four feet leave the floor at once – as she snaps the life out of the fly with her mouth!  I need a video of that!
