I've been enjoying my Mama.  We've baked and baked some more.  We've played lots of SkipBo and talked, talked, talked.  Children are enjoying her too.  The girls get lots of books read to them.  Son plays her SkipBo when I'm doing other things.  I'm going to meet Dad today so he can follow me home.  They will stay one more night before heading to my sister's tomorrow for Thanksgiving.

Sarah, it does sound like you have enjoyed your Mama very much!!  That is wonderful.

I have to take David's car into Toyota today…interrupting my food prepping!!   Oh well, hopefully it won't take all day for them to decide how much it is going to cost.

I'll take my crocheting, I'm making a nice big table doily in the filet stitch.  It is of course a pattern with roses in it.  Perhaps a book if I get tired of crocheting.

I don't have the foggiest idea what to fix for supper!

Now I'm having a nice glass of red wine with my itallian supper!  I'm drinking it out of a coffee cup so my dad doesn't want any too much.  He can't have alcohol because of both the sugar and some of his meds, so this is MINE!!  LOL.

We do 'split' a beer now and then while watching a football game or something, but he knows it's a big treat and I arrange his medicine time to adapt!  Laugh

Your Dad is very lucky to have you taking care of him…I'm sure he appreciates everything you do for him.

Today I work on my swap gift and I think I'll make a big batch of brownies to take as an extra for Thanksgiving…the rest I'll work on tomorrow. We'll be working on fencing later if it doesn't rain. That's the plan anyway.Fork(pitchfork!)

Making rolls today – The dough is rising right now, so I decided to see what was up here!  Then I am going to make ribbon necklaces for some pendants I bought for Christmas presents.  I am also going to have to keep an eye on myself to make sure I don't eat all the puppy show that is meant to be taken with us for Thanksgiving.  That stuff is so good!

Just got back from taking David's corolla in for service…..$163.03….the check engine light was on.  It was the gas cap, $92 dollars for labor.  For heavens sake, hand me the blasted gas cap and I will pop it on for $92 dollars!!!  Any hoo….I'm not going to sweat it today!

It is a glorious day here in Florida.  A bit overcast but very nice for this time of year.

I am currently sitting outside with my laptop watching my 3 year old play. We are taking a break from feeding  and watering the chickens, duck, rabbit, dogs and cats. After my other daughter gets out of school we are heading to my Moms house to spend time with family and have leftovers from last night.

Sounds like everyone is having a nice day.  Sarah it is so nice you are getting to spend time with your Mom like that. I hope you took some pictures for memories down the road. It seems I'm always having such a good time when something like that is going on that I forget the pictures until to late. I just put a roast with carrots and potatoes in the oven for supper.

Mailed out my swap gift, prepped the refrigerator for Thanksgiving dinner, made a apple cranberry pie and a pumpkin cheesecake and kid proofed the house. Think I'll do some more prepping later!

Sometimes,I live in my own little world, but it's okay because they know me here.

— on my way out to clean the chicken coop.  Yay!  Hehe, it's not so bad, I do it often and put in fresh shavings, unlike old timers who used to let the waste pile up till it was knee deep and nasty. —

Having left over roast for dinner, rolls rising now just need to pick out a veg.

Today I am putting together the sweet potato pudding to be cooked tomorrow, and also making deviled eggs.  Then I'll make the ribbon necklaces that I never got around to making yesterday so I can get to the fun part – Wrapping the gifts!

I'm so glad I have a chance to get back to the forum, way too busy!  Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving.   I just finished my work and I'm starting on my pies and cooking sweet potatoes in the crockpot to get them ready for a casserole and a pie.   Enjoy the long weekend, eat, drink and be merry and be careful if you're traveling!  I hope I can make more frequent visits to the forums now.

See ya!Sun

Since we are going out to eat tomorrow for the big feed, nothing to do much today out of the ordinary.

Sitting here with a cup of coffee and gingerbread/macadamia biscotti contemplating whether to make some monkey bread.  And if so, should it be from yeast rolls (some in the freezer) or canned biscuits.  Such a dilemma!  If they are timed right, we could have monkey bread with scrambled eggs for supper, then the left over monkey bread for breakfast in the morning.

First, had better double check the date on those biscuits!  Since we now use Suzanne's Quick Mix (using whole wheat flour we grind ourselves), there is very little call for those tube biscuits these days.

Second, must search the Community Cookbook for monkey bread recipes!  Seems like there were a couple good candidates there…

Just made roll-ups and put them in the fridge to chill…will make an apple pie in a bit and may make the buns today or early in the morning. Since we're not hosting Thanksgiving dinner this time I'm having it pretty easy! Oh…I made cookies yesterday and will take some with us. Looking forward to an easy day tomorrow and good food and good company!  Fork

I am whooped!  Pegged out!

I have made Mama's cornbread dressing.  I know how she made it just not the exact amounts of stuff.  So I hope it is as good as her dressing always was.

Got my turkey all ready to pop into the oven in the morning.  Simmered a duck so I can just drop the dumplings in the broth tomorrow.  I'm trying to save time!

Got a recipe off of King Author's website for their soft pull apart dinner rolls all ready and doing a slow rise in the fridge.  I will just take them out tomorrow and let them rise again and then bake.

Right now I have 3 pound cakes in the oven.  One orange pound cake, one pecan pound cake and another one of those buttermilk pound cakes.

Made the deviled eggs and their all ready in the fridge.

Now I need to vacuum my floors and wash a load of clothes.  I am tired though!  So, I perked me a pot of coffee and will rest a minute then get busy so I will have everything done when my precious walks through that door!

oh yes, I sliced up a bowl of strawberries and put some sugar on them so they'll make their own juice.  Whipped up some homemade whipped cream.  With the buttermilk pound cake I'll be able to make some strawberry shortcake!!!  That is going to be sooooooo good!
